Lovely restaurant serving lovely food. Haggis Croquettes with Whisky Sauce and Neep Puree was superb. Fish and Chips were very good too, as was the service. Only constructive criticism was that a small salad to supplement the fish and chips would have been appreciated as the plate looked a little uninteresting without it

I have visited the Ship numerous times over the years, (used to stay in Stonehaven) but on my last visit I was very disappointed. It is not a cheap lunch by any means, I had the steak pie which was very average, my husband had the fish when he was nearly finished he noticed a hair on his plate, I...

* Great location * Lovely old building * Great breakfast * Dated room * Poor customer service * Overpriced * Bar devoid of atmosphere Visited in November and although our room was clean with a comfortable bed I felt that at £92 out of season it was overpriced and could do with an upgrade. The rosewood varnish on all the...

Our room overlooked the harbor and was cozy and delightful. Bed was queen-size and very comfy with plenty of pillows. Shower big enough (some have been tiny on this trip). Heated towel rack, tea pot, hair dryer, flat screen TV. Great value.

We went here to have lunch as wanted somewhere beside the water at Stonehaven. The ship inn is in a perfect location and was very busy so we were lucky to get a table as we had not booked. The food was very good and we did not have to wait too long before we were served.

I quite enjoyed my stay at the Ship Inn. The staff were very helpful even though they were busy running the pub/restaurant. The food was very good downstairs (still dreaming about the raspberry cheesecake). The room had an excellent view of the harbor and all the amenities you'd typically expect: wifi, tv, hot shower, tea/coffee. Stonehaven is a cute little...

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent at all times over the 3 days - the special meal on Hogmanay (whilst expensive) was of superior quality. The rooms were exceptionally well set up and very comfortable. I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anybody I know is looking for accommodation in the area.

Charged £3 for a CUP of coffee, enough said. No welcome or interaction apart from the nice cleaners. Not overly busy on a Thursday morning so no excuses. Dog friendly but the dog treat bowl was for decor I assume

So - £3 for a CUP of coffee (Why the capitals? What do you expect coffee to be served in?) It was actually a cappuccino made with freshly ground beans and fresh milk - not instant with powdered milk as served in many other places. I reckon our prices are about average or below for the standard of product, service,...

We didn't expect a welcome, a simple greeting would have done! This was by far the unfriedliest place of the 8 places we stayed at during our vacation in Scotland. We were taken to our very small room without a friendly word. There I didn't like the "don't" signs either. We decided to have dinner and drinks at the pub...

When I booked The Ship Inn, I naively thought I would be staying at an 18th Century Inn with lots of character. How wrong could I be ??? The room we were allocated was in the new extension of 5 rooms and these were tiny boxes constructed of little more than 2 sheets of thick cardboard. The rooms are so...
