The Manor House Hotel & Spa in Alsager earns rave reviews for its spa facilities, notably the unique swim-up bar and the overall cleanliness praised by guests. Many visitors commend the staff's friendly and efficient service, although there have been occasional mentions of less attentive service.
While the hotel's atmosphere captivates with live music and a serene spa vibe, opinions on room quality and value are mixed; some rooms are seen as outdated and the hotel's pricing as inconsistent with the amenities for some travelers.

Detailed Reviews
We booked this hotel for a walking weekend for 4 couples. We were very very impressed with the place.
The rooms are very nicely decorated - apparently they were refurbed about 6 months ago - the beds are large and comfy, the showers are very good on power, the towels are lovely and fluffy and the White Company toiletries are very good. All in all the room was practically perfect and I don’t say that lightly as we have slept in many many hotel rooms which did not come anywhere close to this standard for a lot more money!
We all really enjoyed the food - everything we ate was super tasty, well presented and plentiful. In a search for SOMETHING negative the only thing I could up with was the fact that the filling to my Steak and Ale pie was just a tad too salty. The steak my husband had on our second night was to die for! The service was unfailingly polite and speedy. All in all we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. And all for £164 for 2 nights for 2 people including Bed and Breakfast on both days and one evening meal and a free glass of Prosecco each. Really really impressed!

Lovely 2 day break, so relaxing. Been before and will go again. Rooms great, clean and comfy. Massive bed. Bathroom sparkling clean, big fluffy towels and quality toiletries.Staff friendly, smiling, helpful, nothing too much trouble.Excellent food in the Stables Bar, quality ingredients, so tasty. Breakfast fab quality too, plenty of choices, well cooked, set us up for the day. Plenty of places to sit inside and out to have a drink, coffee, or just chat. Love the courtyard in the middle, nice and sheltered, beautifully peaceful. We were worried about going away to a hotel with Covid still around but the The hotel have got it fully in hand. You can choose whether housekeeping clean your room or not. It suited us to make our own bed and have fresh towels, tea, coffee, milk etc delivered in a bag, left outside our room.

We visited the Manor House Hotel Friday 28th August for our friend's wedding and its the first place we've been to since covid-19 but we need not have been nervous about it as this hotel is certainly safe with the safest measures put in place for customers as well as their staff. Hand sanitisers are posted about the hotel all over in particular the entrance and also entrance to the function rooms and the stables bar and restaurant. The hotel provided masks during the wedding ceremony for the guests, and the function room as well as the restaurant adhered to the social distancing measures everything was done to the highest of standards, they really have this under the highest of control! The staff are welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
The food is wonderful at the stables bar and restaurant, and again the highest of standards are met in there too.
Absolutely enjoyed our stay at this hotel and the wedding day was fabulous! We will certainly be visiting this hotel again soon
Thank you to all staff who helped to make our stay a very welcome and enjoyable experience even in these stressful times with this virus. Credit to all your staff, thank you again. ☺👏

Fantastic stay, super service by the staff - especially by the bobbed brunette female staff member. A Covid-secure environment with hand sanitisers freely available and tables at the bar/restaurant well spaced apart, made us feel relaxed.
The stay was let down by the lack of heating in the room on arrival - there was no heat coming from the radiators and it was around 7pm! In the end, I had to personally find the duty manager to ask him to check and turn on the boiler.

+1
The accommodation was top class, the service and the way in which the staff approached and spoke to was explanatory. The actual accommodation matched the class, the service and attention. It’s very modern and cosy inside especially the main lobby and entire place is decorated with a good taste. I would highly recommend this particular place, because it’s worth every penny you pay. The restaurant menu was very varied and would suit all taste. The furniture and carpet etc in our room were very good and new, cleanliness of bathroom was very good.

After staying at the Manor House for 10 nights. I can highly recommend this hotel compared to many other that I have stayed in, Staff and management were excellent and friendly, went out of their way to speak to me as I was on my own. You form a nice friendship with them during your stay if you’re chatty. The price is also reasonable for facilities and the quality of the room
Having stayed in many 4-5* hotels I can highly recommend. Even for a solo stay :)

My Daughter chose this venue for her Wedding Day held last Saturday.
From the outset, the Wedding Planner and Organiser were very thorough in their duties, making "out of the box" suggestions to enhance the day! Suggesting hearty food for an Autumn day, wine that complemented the food and very well presented.
The Wedding room was set for the big day and decorated in a very selective and enchanting way that set the scene beautifully.
The adjoining dining room was very nicely set and with everything on a flat single level, even the elderly relatives found the whole day, easy to get around and enjoy!
The service was arranged by the Hotel and the Wedding Registrar who the hotel booked was very professional and even went out of her way to put my daughter at ease before the ceremony.
After the ceremony we moved into the adjoining room and were very promptly served a very tasty and hot three course meal followed by homemade shortbread and tea or coffee. Empty plates all round suggested it wasn't just me but over 50 people had all been delightfully fed!
After a short break, where guests retired to their rooms or pleasantly decorated and comfortably furnished adjoining areas of rest, we moved onto the evening and the reception room had been cleaned and re-arranged to accommodate over 80 guests.
The evening reception was serviced by delightful waiters and waitresses, who found it no trouble to find "that choice of drink" needed by some guests and we were served a lovely choice of fish and chips in a basket or curry, rice and naan bread, again hotly served and very tasty!
The entertainment was offered by the "In-House" DJ and he played a very good selection of music catering for everyone's needs!
My Daughter and new Husband, retired to the Wedding Suite and found nice touches to complement their stay.
In the morning, we visited The Stables Restaurant and were very promptly served a delicious Breakfast from a very good choice of food that catered for all needs.
As the Father of the Bride, you want the very best day for your Daughter and that can be found here!
Thank you to each and every member of The Manor House Hotel and Spa @ Alsager

We recently went to The Manor House some family and friends. Some stayed overnight, others met us there for an evening meal
At reception we were warmly greeted and check in was very quick and efficient
Our room was very smart, and neat. The bed was very large and comfortable
We went to the restaurant - Stables Bar & Grill for evening meal and all the food and wine was fabulous. Service was excellent with all the food served hot. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and looks warm and cosy. It is spread over two floors. As well as stairs there is a lift to the upstairs part which is were we were seated. We were in a large room seated at a long table
For breakfast we had the Full English breakfast, it was delicious. We were meant to sitting with friends, but due to a mix up maybe on the computer system, we unknowningly dined separate. Not a problem as our friends are quite noisy!
There are leisure facilities including a swimming pool, gym and spa. There are ongoing renovations, but these did not really affect our stay. The swimming pool, which I think has recently been renovated, was easy to access via steps for the more abled bodied. It missing any type of pool hoist or other type of access for wheelchair users or other people using walking aids, so, I would have to say it is inaccessible for disabled persons. Renovations were ongoing so it may be that there disabled peolpe are being included in the future. There is a Spa that was offering various treatments , but we did not participate in these. Nor did we use the gym. The changing rooms were not open maybe due to Covid rules or renovations. You were given a bathrobe and towel from reception and changed in your own room, menaing you walked from your room to the pool
The large airy and pleasant reception area was great for sitting in with family and friends. Coffee etc can be ordered from reception from the friendly staff
Our bedroom - 105 was spacious and very comfortable. Room 105 is anaccessible room with a wet room and it was very clean and tidy
Generally the hotel is very spacious, comfotable and all the staff are very accommodating
Access to the hotel was via steps and a ramp
All staff were very friendly and helpful
We would definitely recommend The Manor House and will be returning

We stayed as a family of 7 after postponing several times due to covid. We chose this hotel as we had buyagift vouchers and wanted to visit Alton Towers (1hr) and also the Monkey Forest (20m)
Check in was faultless. Everything required provided. Lovely white company toiletries in room.
Stables Restaurant was outstanding - wonderful food.
Breakfast is a good choice of food with your cold items buffet style and hot food to order.
Swimming pool lovely and warm - changing rooms were under renovations when we stayed.
On the Saturday night we were told there were two parties and we were concerned regarding noise but we did not hear a thing from the rooms!
Wonderful. Have recommended to family and friends :)

We booked a short break abroad for a few days, however, with changes occurring by the day we changed our minds and thought we’d try somewhere we hadn’t been in this country before.
We saw the Manor House Hotel through Travelzoo and with such a good price it made up for what we’d lost on our flights.
Owing to the price we didn’t expect much, however, we were extremely impressed with the condition and cleanliness of the hotel and our room. We’d booked in for dinner our first night and again were extremely impressed in the service and quality of the food. There was no rush to get you in and out and the staff were very attentive. I’ve read some reviews complaining about the cost of drinks. Yes they are more expensive but isn’t that the same with the majority of hotels?
Breakfast again was excellent with a varied choice and refill pots of tea and some toast was of no problem.
The pool was open from 4pm - 8pm. We went in there once and it was a very nice temperature and clean.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and courteous and to us genuinely appeared to value their customers as well as their hotel.
I very rarely leave reviews, but felt particularly with the current situation, this hotel and its staff deserve to be praised in their efforts and we’d have no hesitation in returning in the future.
If you fancy a trip out, Buxton is extremely nice and Castleton is just idyllic.
