We booked tickets for the Liszt Festival Raiding relatively late and then were unable to get a room at the hotel we had stayed at several times during the festival (due to an error in the "automatic booking system"?). Fortunately, the booking here on the homepage was successful. Just before arrival, we received an email with information about arrival, check-in and "facts & tips". The Boutique Hotel Zum Oberjäger is located in the listed historic Lackenbach Castle. Parking was possible a little way away from the "gatekeeper's house", where we had the room key in an envelope to collect. The room was large, very well equipped with every comfort, the bathroom with bathtub, shower niche with overhead and hand shower, sink, toilet in the same room. Everything was very well maintained and clean.
Breakfast was served in the "Green Salon", not a buffet, but a very large portion of different dishes served (almost a small buffet for everyone, so to speak), then a dessert and drinks of your choice at the end. And all this with very attentive and friendly service. On the day of departure, the bill (e.g. drinks from the “cooking salon”) had to be paid in the Green Salon.
We enjoyed the walks in the huge castle park, a visit to the museum with the permanent exhibition “On the trail of nature” and the exhibition “400 years of the Battle of Lackenbach” as well as a snack in the café by the museum.
The booking conditions were rather unusual: the price for the entire stay (in October!) had to be paid immediately when booking in January and the cancellation conditions were “This rate is no longer cancelable”! We are very happy that we booked anyway, because overall it was a beautiful, unusual and unique stay!

Two nights. Two days - not enough to even begin to appreciate the amazing garden. Actually, I shouldn't have had to leave the grounds. But since - unfortunately - there is no possibility of getting supplies other than breakfast and making your own food in the great kitchen lounge...
Drinks are available - a version of the minibar - but in XXXL format.
Somewhat unfortunate (-> note about self-catering) the good red wine by the liter costs the same in the self-service as the same wine in a six-pack in the wine shop.
