I immediately felt welcome and comfortable there from the moment I drove up the driveway. It is a splendid place to stay set in wonderful grounds. I enjoyed delightful conversation with both Carolyn and Robert during my stay. I stayed in the Chinese room which had beautiful views out over the river and the Mill. Breakfast was lovely on both...

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the house. We booked the John McCormack room and were not disappointed. Real charm and character - great views also of the river/castle. A lovely breakfast and great chat with Robert and Carolyn before leaving - exactly what an irish B&B should offer!! Would go back in a heartbeat!!

Not at all impressed. Very disappointed. Damp and musty. Cobwebs and stained carpets. No locks on doors and clothes hanging in wardrobe. Two of our party members decided to stay. They were charged for our departure. This was totally wrong, as there were no terms and conditions on booking,. One of our party suffers with Asthma and felt the effects...

Caroline offered such a warm welcome on arrival. The house itself is incredible, spacious and interesting. Our room, the most expensive of the 3 at €65 had the wow factor. A comfy bed, a view to remember and an en-suite larger than most bedrooms. We were given advice on the local area, really useful. I would definitely return and highly...

I visited with two friends for our annual treat and we were not disappointed. We were the only guests and it felt like a home from home. Carolyn and Robert could not have been more friendly and helpful, with suggestions and directions for interesting places to visit. They also provided the tastiest home made food, chilled our wine and provided...

Lovely house, lovely people, lovely food - what more could you ask for? Answer: dogs - and the Ashes have three, all friendly and of great character. Also great views! We had a wonderful two night stay. We really felt more like friends, in this very beautiful and historic country house. We were well fed not only physically, but also...

Aside from the difficulty finding the house, eventually we got there and it appeared charming - from the outside. Carolyn finally got off her cell and welcomed us. She and her husband are very entertaining but her stories seemed a diversion so we didn't notice the arm falling off the sofa or the threadbare furniture covers and rugs, discolored carpets,...

Loved our 2 night stay and wish it had been longer. Living in Dubai with a wealth of 5* hotels, this was a unique treat. Beautiful house steeped in history with every nook and cranny filled with the most delightful treasures from around the world. Add in comfortable beds (imagine coming home exhausted at 3am after a family wedding to...

My husband, daughter and I were attending a wedding in the area.I booked B&B months in advance as I was treating my family to a night in Dublin and then in this B&B. My daughter was home from London for weekend. We arrived at the B&B on the day we had booked to drop off our luggage. The main gate to...

We spent a night here while attending a wedding nearby. Gorgeous double room, with an ensuite, clean, warm, Carolyn had even turned the electric blanket on as the evening was a little chilly. Very tasty breakfast in the sunroom overlooking the River Griese and the old Mill. Carolyn was even kind enough to drive us back to the hotel to...
