As we had a dog this pleasant hotel had dog friendly accommodation in a separate block a few paces from the main hotel. The hotel and our room was spotlessly clean, the staff were very friendly and made a fuss of the dog and the breakfast, which for people with dogs, is eaten in the bar area was good. It...

Just returned from a lovely weekend break at Newton House Hotel. The check-in process was swift, easy and informative and we could check in from 3.30. The room was spotlessly clean, a huge, comfortable bed, in which we both a wonderful night's sleep and the room had lovely views of the countryside. The dinner choice was pleasant and although they...

We booked a three night stay here through Wowcher. When we arrived we checked in and were given details of dinner and breakfast times etc. We were allocated to room no. 7, whch proved to be slightly dated in decor, but clean and comfortable. Our en suit was brilliant and looked to have been recently reburbished with a new shower,...

The location of the hotel is great for walking and touring in the area but it is quite close to the main road so try to grab a room at the rear of the building. The hotel backs onto the Tissington Trail and it was fortunate coincidence that the well dressing was on the week that we stayed so it...

Basic clean Hotel. Comfy bed and great nights sleep. Stayed in room 10 and it was very adequate for our 2 night stay. Perfect central location for the Tissington Trail and Dovedale walks. We had dinner 1st night which was value for money and Breakfast was homely and set us up for the day ahead.

We visited early May for two nights as part of a Groupon deal with dinner one night, a bottle of presseco and a continental breakfast each morning. The dinner was basic but reasonable for the deal. The room (no 12) was comfortable and seemed newly renovated/decorated. The hosts were lovely and helpful. Perfect for access to the Tissington Trail as...

Small room, clean. Food, very basic, the continental breakfast was unusual. Staff friendly. I don't know how they come by the basic price for staying here, We certainly wouldn't have paid it, but as we were on an offer the price was acceptable. Handy for visits to Bakewell, Buxton and Chatsworth House, good center for walking a holiday. Easy to...

Nice and quiet place. A bit rough around the edges - it lacked the finishing touches. Downstairs and the hallways going to the room had a musky smell. However, room 6 was nice enough though and was cleaned to high standard. We bought the 2 course meal + room wowcher. The food was of an okay standard, but it wasn't...
