Only upon departure did I realise that 'distilled' was the most fitting word with which one can describe the Naxian Collection. We were met with the kind eyes of a lovely man who was present throughout our stay in all areas of the estate - at the desk, behind the bar, showing people to rooms, carrying bags, welcoming people on arrival. In the era of the surgical mask, our eyes have taken on a whole new level of importance, and this man's gaze was one of the most expressive we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. The other word that sums up our experience is 'great' because he said 'great' instead of 'okay', which, if you try it, leads to 'great' being said about 50 times a day. Without a doubt, this contributed to us feeling 'great'. The reception is a modest size, glass and stone, and the decor is lovely. It's pared back, sleek, minimalist - you can see the thought that's gone into the aura of the place. As if the loveliness of the small and personable team wasn't enough, you could even feel the presence or personality of the owner of the hotel exuding from the floor-to-ceiling shelves housing 304 whiskies/whiskeys. 'Distilled'... On arrival, we were given a drink and some suggestions of things to do in the local area - a Naxos food tour/cookery class seems to be a good shout, although we didn't have time between tanning sessions. The rooms are lovely - really, really lovely. Our room (a premium suite, I believe) was one half of the ground floor of a two-storey house. We shared a pool with our neighbour and the two rooms above us shared a pool away and to the left on a different level (the estate is cut into a hillside). We didn't see our neighbours once and had total privacy, even when swimming and sunbathing. Given the landscaping, we barely saw another room/house beyond our own, which, again, added to this feeling of being the only guests at the hotel. The surrounding views are stunning and Naxos has a host of delightful places from which you can view sunsets. Inside, our room was spacious, airy and beautifully designed. The bath, shower room/steam room and bed are sculpted from stone/poured concrete/dark, resinous material, so you feel like you're half in a suite and half in a cave. There was room service available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast was everything you could want. Fruit, juice, pastries, toast, eggs on request, tea coffee, chocolate cereal, muesli, yoghurt - all the good stuff. We're fairly low-maintenance guests, but they'd babysit your kids if you needed them too and a whole bunch of other stuff. We didn't want for anything here. It's the perfect retreat. It's quiet. It's easy to get lost from the world. You can chat either in the reception/breakfast area or at the long communal table at the patio just outside the reception, a point of community in a brilliantly private hotel. The hotel avoids the sprawling heaviness of a resort or a busy party-hotel with a communal pool. When you're there, you can't help but feel that sense of superiority that comes from having made exactly the right choice. Love, love, love.

My wife and I booked the honeymoon villa to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We stayed for 5 nights and really wanted to be in a location that was just a bit off the tourist trail, where we could enjoy some peace and quiet and really relax after spending more than a week hustling and busting in Athens and Crete. Mission accomplished! We had a lot of pre-arrival communication with Sofia which all went well. On arrival we were greeted by Carnation (English translation) who was kind and took care of all of our immediate requests. We were offered a welcome beverage in the lobby and check in was a seamless process. Carnation escorted us to our room and gave us an orientation of the suite and its amenities. That afternoon we ordered food and drinks at our pool and Carnation served us poolside. I noticed there was a knocking sound in the suite and identified it as a window shutter latch which I told Carnation about. She got it sorted for us ASAP. Mike was in the lobby restaurant/bar every day. He was a pleasure to talk to, very polite and responsive, served a great Old Fashioned, and proactively attended to our every need. He and Carnation essentially took care of all the guests and managed to keep everyone happy. I used to work in luxury hotels and even I didn't notice anyone complaining or reacting to poor service. I also engaged with Adonis at the front desk on numerous occasions. He helped me secure two rental cars on short notice and did it with ease. He told me later that he was new and that I his first car rental, but I swear I would never have known. He was so polite and professional and just wanted to make sure that we had everything that we needed and when we needed it. In summary, this hotel experience ticked all the boxes for us. It's a good location between Naxos town and Plaka Beach, it was not fully occupied so it felt tranquil and private, the staff is small enough to be able to get to know on a first name basis over the course of a few days, the food and beverage was always outstanding, and the service was always personal. Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention that we arranged private massages in our villa with Michail, who has a brochure at the front desk. HIGHLY recommend! Due to COVID there was no menu or hotel compendium in the guest room, but not that's not a big deal. I received menus upon request. I did think it would be nice to have the fridge stocked with more beverages than only water, and having some snacks in the room would have been great. Not a big deal, and I'm assuming their absence was a result of COVID, so not factoring it into my overall rating. We definitely had a great experience and think that you will too!

I stayed in a two bedroom/two bath villa (with a private pool and backyard area!) in August 2021 with two friends. The villa was spotless, perfectly appointed (spacious bathrooms, huge showers, big soaking tub, bidets, large vanities, generous bedrooms, huge windows & views in all directions, etc.), and had every amenity needed - we really enjoyed the small kitchenette for snacks and storage. The entire place was cleaned daily, and fresh towels/sheets provided every time. We had breakfast every morning at the resort, which included a substantial spread of fresh fruit, pastries, thick greek yogurt (TO DIE FOR), all sorts of honeys, jams, etc. and the option to order fresh eggs. We also dined at the Naxian Collection two nights, when we were extra tired/didn't want to venture to town, and the food and drinks were incredible - so fresh and delicious. I have a gluten allergy and was able to eat pretty much anything & they were super knowledgeable about ensuring I was safe at every meal. Most importantly, we were SO charmed by the staff! The young woman who oversaw breakfast was overly accommodating (including graciously making us iced coffees one afternoon even though her shift had just ended), and the two younger men who served the bar/dinner area in the afternoon and evenings went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and constantly checked-in on. We rented a car (would recommend - such a fun way to see more of the island!) and there was plenty of parking every day. Could not recommend this property more. I have super high expectations and am usually disappointed, somehow, in most of my hotel experiences. This was the rare exception!

As a family we book hotels based on a heavy criteria of luxury & location. The Naxian quote simply did not meet those expectations. The hotel is run by a juvenile staff-they are aggravated & arrogant. The breakfast is less than desirable and hardly what one would call a typical “Greek spread” It’s not all together horrible but the price does not justify the stay. They tried their best but the whole experience fell flat. Save your money and go to Paros instead.

Our family of four stayed in a 2BR villa with a gorgeous pool and it was just perfect. The location of this property is central on the island. The staff is wonderful and handled every need, which is particularly helpful for those that cannot speak Greek. Our villa was clean, spacious and complete with every amenity, including 2 balconies. We hope to come back and see more of this spectacular island.
