We came to the restaurant in the hotel for dinner as we were recommended by locals, who mentioned that they are one of the better known restaurants in town. The ambient is cosy like an old wooden lodge. We had schnitzel and goulash with noodles. The food was well prepared and tasted good. Overall, an enjoyable experience.

This was the second hotel in our Newmarket Holidays trip and had a lot to live up to after the Hotel Du Parc in Sirmione: it didn't quite make it! On the positive side, Fugen is a lovely village surrounded by mountains and pastures full of the clunking of cow bells; the Hotel presents a fantastic first appearance, adorned with...

Fügen is very pretty not a lot to do but a good base to explore surroundings. Hotel staff at the Hotel Sonne are friendly but our room leaves a lot to be desired and no others available - it's small, dated, no balcony, the shower room dated with broken tiles on the floor. No sky TV, Internet very intermittent, let's...

We travelled to the Zillertal valley in Austria, and found Fugen a good 'base'. Hotel Sonne, situated in the heart of the village was the perfect find. Most rooms have a shared balacony where one can see snow capped mountains on the horizon. The feather filled duvets were plumper than a Christmas turkey, and the rooms had space for everything!...

This hotel was such a change from the one we visited in Italy as part of our Newmarket tour. The staff were kind, helpful and attentive. The food was fine but we did have some odd combinations such as pork with broccoli on and melted cheese, sprouts on the side with spaghetti, strange. There was always water on the table...

Lovely hotel and staff. Rooms ok. Very clean. Food was in my opinion ok, as part of an organised trip we had a set menu so didn't know what we would get. Bar attached to hotel for reasonably priced drinks.

As soon as we drew up to this hotel, I just knew it was going to be good and I wasn't disappointed. First night, welcome drink on the dinner table, jugs of water. Little touches that mean a lot (esp. after the Italian hotel). Staff efficient and friendly. Meals lovely (although there was strange combination on one night, but good...

I stayed here during a tour and it was nice. It's a very typical Tyrol hotel, very pretty and very wooden! It's right in the heart of town, and the town is a nice place to wander around looking at all the pretty buildings covered in flowers! My room was spacious but the beds are really short, and I'm tall,...

Our first time in Austria did a split holiday 3 days Italy 4 days Austria. The hotel is situated in a lovely village, a lovely bakery at the bottom of the road with coffee shop well worth a visit. Although the hotel is older it is very quaint, room was fine and food was good. Staff very friendly, would imagine...

rooms clean and tidy. Hot water. Staff very friendly. Food nothing special but ok. It does what it says on the box. Buses stop outside and train is a 5 min walk so easy for skiing the whole zillertal , covered car park. Village is a working village but has après ski as well. All in all I would return...

“When you want to go to the sauna (which is only for 4 persons max), you have to go through the hotel bar and the restaurant with your towel and underwear. Not so funny. We chose not to choose next time, we choose something else: another hotel.”
