    After reading reviews we were keen to try this 'character' hotel. One device said they were very responsive to email. I tried both email address for several days; one returns error, other no reply. Therefore unable to book.

    We were passing through Savannakhet, and needed one nights accommodation. After reading the non flattering reviews of accommodation throughout Savannakhet we finally went with Sala Savan. We stayed in middle up stairs room.     This charming house was built in 1926, and probably has not been repainted since. It is a great pity as the place could be hugely improved with a good cleaning and painting.     This hotel, in a fading colonial house, has high-ceilinged rooms (ours was with a balcony too.)
