The room itself is nice, we were in the King room, huge room, nice firm bed, cool air, and nice bathroom.. Everything was spotless and neat, and the young lad down in the shop was extremely helpful and speaks good English.. there are doors for two balconies but I could get neither outside doors open, the locks seemed frozen or something. I couldn’t find fault with the room, the WiFi was a bit pokey, but that about it.
The problem is out of their control, and as we drove up I should have told the guy to keep driving, there is a large market space across the lane that set up food stalls, and two bars, I found out later, as both cranked up around 8 pm, not bad to start but by 9:30 both were at a major volume trying to outdo each other or something..
I understand that the hotel cannot do anything about it and I suppose if you wanted to sit, drink and listen to very loud and not very good guys singing their hearts out, go for it..
But for two travelers who had been on the road for two days and wanted a good night’s rest, it was totally unacceptable.. as I write this, they are wailing away and even my industrial strength earplugs can’t block it out.
On a upside, the food at the stands was very good, and not at all expensive.
It’s a shame that this nice boutique hotel with only a few generous sized rooms in a quaint area is being affected by this rubbish, otherwise I’d have been more than happy to give it full marks

Stayed here so I could get my thai visa
It is basic but clean and market opposite for eating out
People very friendly there is a night club bar which can be a bit noisy but after 12 goes very quite
We had a lovely stay here and will continue to stay there when we need to do our visa again
A very nice four nights there
But word of warning if you fly from Thailand to there it’s cheap
But to fly back you have to fly from savanaket to Vientiane then Thailand Bangkok and it’s not cheap back worth remembering as I found out to my wallet
Thanks for reading hope it helps you out

Super schön renoviertes altes Kolonialgebäude. Zimmer inkl. Einrichtung in Topzustand.
