Clean spacious and cheap. Internet not brilliant but walking distance to embassy and bus station. Near to a few nice restaurants but not much else around this area. Tea and coffee complimentary in the foyer area. Big grounds and a fantastic old tree.

For the price (400 or 600 Baht) its OK for a short stay - the aircon, hot water works OK, the bed was reasonable and the room was clean. The free wi-fi was patchy. I don't think it deserves VERY Good but would have given it better than Average on rating if available.

The main reason to recommend here is walking proximity (<10 mins) to the new Thai Consulate for the visa runners.

There is no food, so bring your own or get something at the nearly local restaurants and street side hawker stalls.

One socket started sparking - so do a quick check on the electrics to make sure you don't see your room go up in smoke! It would appear this may once have been a 'love hotel' with karaoke but those days seem long past.

It's close to the Thai Consulate. The air conditioning works well, if a little noisily. Otherwise there's nothing to recommend here. The bed was so worn out it creaked with every breath. The bathroom (see picture) was disgraceful and home to a thriving population of mosquitoes. There was no room service provided after our first night so we had to chase up towels, soap and water. Yeah, it's cheap (if you book on Line they make a point of telling you at check in how much cheaper it is to book direct), but I can't say with confidence I'd be back at any price.

My wife and I had a 2 night stop for a visa trip to Thailand, very pleasant staff and serviceable room well located and easy to get everywhere on foot or a short cheap tuktuk ride to/from the border. Hotel room had everything (water, electricity and aircon) working properly, Savannakhet a small provincial town easy to explore and with people of a similar nature to the Eisan (Thai) people.

Stayed 2 nights for sorting a visa to Thailand in September. Nice room with AC for less than 400THB (just pay I'm Kip), clean and in good position, 5 minutes walk to the Thai Consulate and 5 minutes walk to the bus station. A few good restaurant nearby and in the morning a baguettes lady selling at 6.000 Kip the best baguette of Sawannakhet. I'll be back.

The rooms are mediocre, very dark and constantly finding cockroaches everywhere, including nesting in my shoe. I know there is only so much the staff can do about that. My biggest complaint is that one of the staff has a child who is here all day everyday screaming for his mom every two minutes, nobody has the sense to quiet him down.

Somchith is a bit messy, disorganized and chaotic but it's not bad for 400-600 baht a night. The internet is working but don't expect great speeds. They have free coffee and tea.
If you need to stay in Savanna for 1 night it's fine. Quite close to the Thai Consulate

We stayed here for 1 night for a very low price (20 dollar per room incl breakfast) and it was just ok. If we would stay longer I would prefer a more luxurious hotel. Free wi-fi only in the lobby, not in rooms. Very friendly tuktuk drivers outside who like to show you around town
