Nice room with all necessary amenities, bed ok, bathrooms ok, air conditioning in the rooms. Have a nice stopover halfway through a sparsely animated city! The host lady is not the most welcoming in the country but is effective.

Our first destination in Laos and it couldn't been much more relaxing. Such a chill place and a nice quiet town. The bungalows were quaint and comfy for 1-2 people. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. Not too much to do in town but it was still a great visit. Only downfall is the wifi is not good at all, but you can walk 10 mins down the street to a nice cafe. I would recommend this place if you want to get away for a couple of days somewhere peaceful and quiet.

This place is really peaceful and nice. There are a few bungalows and palm trees all around. The owner and her family was so kind and friendly. We planned to stayed only one night but then we spend two and we would more, because it was a really special experience. The bungalows were basic, clean and cozy.
I highly recommend! :)

I arrived on the premises late afternoon and was promptly shown to my room where, after a few minutes I learned that there had been no running water since early morning.
I also learned, from my neighbors, that no meals were served, save for a low quality breakfast, made of an omelet and some bread.
The room was tiny, basically the size of the bed, with no air con, no TV, no mosquito repellent (useful), no fridge (useful).
Given how spread out is Savannakhet, once you are at Sala Thong Yon, you better be ready to do some serious walk, under the heat, if you want to eat or buy something.
After a few minutes, I was left wondering what these people who had written these raving reviews had been smoking!
A jungle garden? Where? I just saw a pocket sized garden that I could cross in 3 steps!
An owner dedicated to her customers? Well, while said customers had been waiting for water all day, she was locked in her room, at 6 PM, surfing the net!
Considering all this, I decided to check out only 30 minutes after my arrival...

Very quiet environment. Rustic but confortable bungalow. Warm welcoming and helpful tips from the owner. Lovely breakfast for 15.000 kips. Not so much to see in Savannakhet but a great place for a stopover before heading north or south of Lao. Definitely recommendable and a great value for money and good service especially when compared to other hotels in Lao.

I may have been unlucky but there was a very loud karaoke nearby which went until 2 am. Since it's hot in April, Iwake up early in order to enjoy the cold of the morning. So at bed at 9pm, I could close an eye until the karaoke stopped. Otherwise the service is good, room is ok but no mosquito net which is a bit weird since the bungalow was nearby water.

More like a homestay as the owners are so welcoming and looked after us. Thez even let us join in for family occassions making flower garlands and dressing up in Loatian formal dress. If you visit savanahkhet this is the onlz place worth staying. Good breakfast and amazing rooms for great value. They even drove us around personally to take us on a trek.

The owner 'Sy ' is warm, cultured and friendly...use of her computer is free and she is an engaging and polite host. The room was basic with a comfortable bed and a chilly fan! A shower is included and loo.
A pet rabbit and a couple of cats run wild in the garden and tours and transport can be booked here. A breakfast of eggs and baguette is available with tea and coffee for a small charge. It is one of the most charming and peaceful home stays I have stayed in at only $10 a night!!
