The room is cheap, but clean and spacious. The food in the restaurant is good and we had Wifi with reasonable speed. So nothing to complain and we like our stay. If you like some more luxury and don't mind spending some more money it may be an option to stay in Villa Thakhek. They are on the same property...

First of all: The food served in the restaurant is good! The red curry was very tasty and the breakfast was also good! The travel lodge is located close to a bus stop, that's why we chose it. The rooms were obviously not cleaned after the last people left. There were plenty of black hairs on the bed sheet and...

This is a good place to start if you're doing the Thakhek Loop. You can rent bikes there and meet other riding companions while hanging out around the fire. The rooms are low grade and the food is nothing special but its a reasonable price and will do for one night as you gear up for the trip of a...

Its a very simple and basic place..indeed for backpackers. Small rooms.. but have a good breakfast... Staff pretty simple and not very friendly needs some guidance and training. That is the old main wing.. 50 meters behind they have a new wing with 7 rooms and this is very much more acceptable ... You can try this one its OK....

I spent two night there before the loop, I took this place because its close to the bus station. But they 're so rude here, I think they don't like tourist because I saw them smile and joke between them but when you ask something or you order food you 've the impression to disturb them ... I don't recommend...

We got offered a room with twin beds on the first floor with a view of the gardens. It was very basic, sheets didn't look clean. It was 70k which for Laos is pretty much. We checked the mattress for bed bugs, found some things but not real evidence. Later that night when lying on the bed I looked at...

We were not impressed with our stay at the travel lodge, both lonely planet and dumont advertised it as the best option in thakek... yet, once again, our booking was not registered and the person at the reception did no effort to look for it. The bathroom was clean but i did not check the showers. The room was big...

The guesthouse is 2km from the city but we came here as traveling by bicycle that's not a problem. We spent one night here and ( maybe because we were exhausted ) slept very well. The garden is very nice, the room basic but ok. Prices are too high for the value (70k Kip for a twin with no bathroom...

We stayed here for a couple of nights before the Loop and one after. It's a nice place, the staff are friendly and do their best to help and please you even with their limited English. The guy on reception speaks good English. They do laundry, make good food (both western and Lao) and run a nice guesthouse. yes, it's...

I was recommended this place by a friend as a good place to go to do the Thakhek loop. And I really don't understand why people stay here. It's a long way from the main town so you can only really eat at the restaurant in the hostel. The food is pretty bad and they didn't seem to have much...
