On my second stay at Maria Paulo guest house, I have come away more fond of the place and even more of the people who help run the place. The guest house has various rooms at multiple price points and while some have a beautiful view and comfort (like the one on the 2nd floor), the rooms with a balcony...

Stayed in this guest house in Agonda for 2 days with family in first week of October. Since we had a 3 year old with us cleanliness, hygiene was our priority . Initially we wanted to stay in Palolem but did not find a suitable place , also most of the beach huts were not operational in first half of...

We were in Goa for 5 nights, in the middle of August. As far as we knew, there are two hotels open during off-season: the Dunhill and Maria Paulo. Dunhill couldnt host us straight away, so we stayed at Maria Paulo for one night. Agonda beach, and South Goa in general, is great, even during off-season. Not a lot of...

Within its price range this property is excellent, I can not fault it although there is not the wow factor to really justify 5 points. The water is hot , the wifi works, it is clean, tidy and comfortable. The restaurant is very good and the staff helpful. The rooms facing the sea get a constant breeze. We enjoyed the community...

Have stayed at Mario Paulo twice, run by Hendrik and his wife, would highly recommend staying there. It's not the cheapest but I do think it's worth it, particularly if you are knackered after a ten-hour flight from Europe and want some home style comforts. Hendrik does airport transfers - I paid 1700Rupees for a drop-off at 2am in the...

The hotel have fresh & clean rooms. It's located at the beach which is great! Their restaurant is really good, excellent food at cheap price. It's a family who owns the hotel and they are very friendly & helpful! It's a budget hotel which is very price worthy.

My husband and I stayed at Maria Paulo Guest House in July, 2015. We had gone to Goa for the monsoon, the best time to visit Goa in my opinion, but the rains eluded us for the most part. Since monsoon is the off-season, Maria Paulo was the ONLY place open in Agonda. The town and beach were really nice....

Goa was our last stop after a couple of train rides and crossing 2 other continents and many cities, and Maria Paulo GH was an ideal choice for unwinding from our sojourn. It has a very homely feel, because it is a family owned business, and managed as such. We feel very welcomed and at ease in the comfortable rooms....

We popped in here for breakfast one day and found it surprisingly lovely, we went there every morning after that. The staff are very friendly and the bar man is very helpful and polite. They also have a little puppy that's always wanting to play. The food is great and were always offered fresh fish and sea food. Would really...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hendrick and Sofia and their lovely family are the perfect hosts. They are available whenever needed, yet allow privacy and comfort to prevail. The rooms are clean and have views of the sea from the balconies. Their small restaurant attached to the hotel produces a nice variety of homemade choices prepared with flavor and care. The fresh fish caught the same day was amazingly moist and flavorful. ... more   less
