Where to begin! My husband and I postponed our honeymoon given COVID, and we could not be more thrilled we chose Mount Cinnamon for our stay. The true definition of paradise – and we will absolutely be back! Staff / The staff worked to coordinate a taxi pickup for us at the airport to take us to Mount Cinnamon – which was a breeze / extremely quick drive (less than 15 minutes). Upon arrival at Mount Cinnamon – we were greeted immediately by the General Manager, Kevin – who greeted us with their infamous rum punch. Kevin immediately sat down to get to know us & provide us all the information we needed to know. The staff here is TRULY remarkable – the most accommodating, friendly, and down-to-earth, generous people. Antonio – our phenomenal bartender! Jade / Amanda / Shakira - our lovely wait staff! Nykia was so incredibly helpful at the front desk – from coordinating taxis around the island, giving us recommendations on what to do / where to eat – she had a tip & trick for everything and was so helpful for everything we needed. We felt extremely safe w/ their COVID protocols on-site, and Garrett was very helpful in coordinating the on-site rapid test we had to take prior to our departure to enter back into the US. We were lucky enough to be in town for Thursday’s “Manager’s Hour” – where drinks and appetizers are complimentary for an hour within the pool courtyard. You can tell the staff is one beautiful family – and they most certainly make their guests feel the same way! Resort Grounds & Amenities / The grounds at Mount Cinnamon are STUNNING; everything was so immaculate & clean. We stayed in the newer Cinnamon Suites – and our jaws nearly dropped when we walked into our room with a Caribbean Sea view and private balcony. The staff even surprised us with complimentary champagne in our room upon arrival, as they knew it was our honeymoon. They give each room a cell phone, of which allows you to communicate to the front desk directly on anything you need (in-room service, golf cart pickup to drive you down to the main dining area or beach, or even to contact them if you needed a ride back to the resort while in town). They offer a turn-down service of which they leave you cookies in your room every night, as well. The walk down to the beach is gorgeous – with a volleyball court, large chess board, shuffleboard, and on-site spa. My husband and I received a massage on the beach – and Kira was amazing! Grand Anse beach is beautiful and walkable – with many restaurants / bars within walking distance of the resort. All water sports at the resort are included. Teon & Sedrick went above and beyond to make our water sport time enjoyable – they truly were SO fun to be around! Food / Breakfast was included -and by no means your ‘standard complimentary breakfast’. Every morning you are plated with fresh fruit, fresh fruit juice, a generous plate of pastries – and each person could then pick an included ‘breakfast entrée of your choice that day. Breakfast and dinner were in an open-air area right off of the pool courtyard - so you had spectacular views all around. We ate multiple lunches at Savvy’s, the beach bar – we were so in love with their fish tacos, we ordered that multiple days in a row! The remaining food looked incredible (and their cocktail / beverage list is extensive). They have a beach BBQ at the Beach Bar / Savvy’s on Friday – where we had the most delicious BBQ ribs, tuna, shrimp, and all the fix-ins. They then had a live steel drum band and bonfire with smore’s – an incredible evening! Taxi Service & the Island / While we spent most of our time at Mount Cinnamon, we also recommend exploring the island while you are there. Mount Cinnamon coordinated one of their main drivers for us for a tour on our last day. For any of your taxi/driving needs (whether it be airport pick-ups, drop off’s to and from restaurants, or a tour of the island) - we HIGHLY suggest you ask for Ashton! You can coordinate island tours to the duration of your liking, but we chose an all-day excursion where Ashton took us to a local spice shop (incredible views) Mark’s Sports Bar, Grand Etang Lake (to feed fish & visit with a monkey), Belmont Estate (cocoa plantation in the rainforest), hot sulfur springs and Concord waterfall. As Ashton was born & raised in Grenada, he knew ALL the history & local hot-spots, of which you would not get to see & explore had we booked through a larger cruise or tour group. Albeit a 9 hour day – the day went SO quickly, as we had the MOST enjoyable time with Ashton! He was already booked the day we left for the airport and coordinated another driver for us – but he even went above & beyond to call us while we were en-route to the airport to ensure everything went smoothly, and to wish us safe travels!

I am very disappointed to write this review and confused as to why I went away with a distinctly average impression - hence the 3/5 score. I have stayed at the owner's properties elsewhere and know that he sets high standards, particularly in guest service and is well known for ensuring a warm welcome and a comfortable stay. Sadly, we received neither, which really surprised and disappointed me. We arrived at around 6pm but there was no one there to welcome us and check in was unnecessarily prolonged and delayed, even though no one else was checking in, and bags took a long time to arrive at the room. This was during COVID, so I was shocked to see how careless the majority of the staff were about wearing masks - most were not - even though guests were wearing masks indoors and were reminded to take their temperature and sanitise hands all the time. This failing to expect staff to wear masks in unacceptable. Then there was the most disappointing breakfast I can remember in a hotel. The hotel was really empty when we stayed - only 3 tables at breakfast. The service was surly and having been given the menu with no comment, when we came to order various items were not available and other items were brought to the table which hadn't been ordered, which is wasteful. To be out of stock in high season was surprising. I drew attention to these shortcomings at checkout and completed a feedback form for the manager, so was again surprised not to receive an email apology - especially about the staff masks issue. Having waited a week for a reply, I post a review simply to make the hotel aware of how seriously guests take COVID security at the moment and how shortcomings in guest service can make or break a stay, from first impression to check out and beyond - especially at over US$600 per night!

Good afternoon Matthew, I too am very disappointed with your review, however I thank you so much for your honest feedback and time taken to submit review. I firstly would like to apologize for my tardiness in a response to your feedback you left at time of checkout. Please have my word that it was discussed with my management team and your feedback was reported to the teams loud and clear. I would like to address the issue of the face masks and the staff, we at Mount Cinnamon take the COVID situation very seriously and you are right all of my staff will remind all guests to ensure they are always wearing masks when moving around the hotel and that social distance in is place. There are sanitizing stations around the hotel and we are 1 of many hotels in Grenada that have been approved a 'Safe Accommodation" based on all of our protocols. Our guests are also expected to be wearing masks at all times when moving around. The breakfast experience you and your party had is a shock to me, our occupancy was low at the time of your stay, however our Food & Beverage team have a standard of items to be given to all guests upon arrival each morning, local juices and pastries are all part of the breakfast offering. I do apologize that we didn't have any smoked salmon for the bagel ordered, sometimes be on a small island, some items we can't provide due to various logistical reasons, but i assure you it is a norm for us. All of my guests are greeted exactly the same way, cold towels with a complimentary drink and a run down of the resort with very little further documentation to be completed. You were greeted by my Front of House Manager Mr. Garrett and your luggage arrived at the room before you and the party did, which again is the norm for us and our full concierge service. I again apologize for your experience here for just 1 night and sad you didn't enjoy or feel comfortable, our mission to all of our guests regardless of their length of stay is that when they go away they want to come back and visit us. I hope that if you do come back to Grenada and we can change your opinion of the fantastic, well reviewed resort and my fantastic team here at Mount Cinnamon. Thanks

We absolutely cannot wait to come back as Mt. Cinnamon was possibly one of our most enjoyable hotel stays ever. Our saga started last year when we booked a stay in 2020. As we were booking our flights last year, we noticed our passports just expired (who knew that would come into play during a pandemic, right? ) So we called Mt. Cinnamon and asked if we could move our stay to 2021 and they did so with no fuss at all. Fast forward to 2021 and we called the hotel and they made accommodations for us so fast and so easy. Prior to arrival, the hotel sent us some contactless paperwork to fill out. We had a few questions regarding arrivals and protocols and they helped throughout the process. When we arrived at the airport, we went to the taxi stand outside and told them where we were staying and they called the hotel who dispatched our taxi that we pre-arranged with them. Arrival at the airport was also smooth as we were greeted by Shawna who was so friendly and so good at giving us a lay of the land. She brought us to our room and we absolutely loved our Hacienda 1B (we'll be asking for it next time). The room was big with a fully stocked kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a balcony overlooking the pool and a large bedroom. Every room has a washer and dryer. The kitchen had a fridge, microwave, stove with oven, coffeemaker, toaster, full sets of cutlery, silverware, plates, cooking items like pots, pans, Pyrex. Even liquid soap, a roll of paper towels, salt and pepper are provided. The grounds of the hotel were super. The pool is in the courtyard beside the open air restaurant where we had breakfast every morning and several dinners (breakfast is included, dinner was not). There's a small fitness room that we used several times. There's ample parking down by reception and right outside our Hacienda. A short walk about 5 mins on their property will lead you down towards the beach where they have a beach cabana where you can buy drinks and lunch. They have a ton of beach chairs with umbrellas and tables out on the beach for guests. I think water sports like the kayaks are included but we never asked to use them. They have some games like a big giant chess board, a volleyball court and shuffleboard. If you want to just relax, our room was stocked with tons of books. I'm guessing other rooms too as other guests were reading tons of books. The beach itself is supposed to be one of the better ones in the Caribbean and it is a real beauty. Not too far away from Mt. Cinnamon was BBC Beach which was also beautiful. Breakfast was included and it was a la carte style our first few days but the hotel got super busy during our two weeks here and they had to switch it to buffet style. There was ample fruit, pastries and various breakfast items - including Caribbean breakfast food items like fish. My gf got beans and tomatoes almost everyday. There's also a choice of a breakfast entree everyday like an omelet, bagel with lox, French toast, breakfast burrito, eggs with bacon and sausage and a couple other things. And the juices were delicious. The staff here was unbelievable - possibly the best in any hotel we've stayed at. If you have a bad word to say about them, you probably should look yourself in the mirror. Shawna, Nykia, Ron, Garrett, Michelle, my bud Steffon, Terrell, Ashlyn, Cathyann, Jade, Antonio, Amanda, Carlene the big boss himself, Mr. Kevin Cooper, and so many others. (I did not intentionally miss anyone, it's only because I haven't had a chance to write this since coming home a month ago but as promised, I was not going to not write this review and give Mt. Cinnamon the praise it deserves.) For night time activities, you won't be left wanting. They have Ribs and Rum night on Saturdays with a live musical duo at the beach cabana. They have smores and a bonfire with a steel band on Fridays. They have the managers reception for a 1 hour happy hour on the house on Thursdays. I certainly made use of this and dinner time drinks on Thanksgiving night (they had a turkey dinner that night for us Americans missing a taste of home). I really can't say enough good things - from Kevin on down, Mt. Cinnamon cannot be beat. We had plenty of conversations with the guys here and Carnival next year would be a great time to come back - I hope we get to take some vacation time for it. If not, there's always the winter. Tip - ask for A1 Car Rental here if you need a car. A1 was professional and honest. I know I'll be using them next time (but beware the roads - like Amanda said, if you can drive in Grenada, you can drive anywhere).

Stayed for ten nights in early December and would like to congratulate Kevin and his team on making Mt Cinnamon such a special place. The hotel is gorgeous and in the best location. Everyone goes above and beyond and each and every one of the team are fantastic. Such a testament to the management and team spirit. My cousin who I was travelling with unfortunately broke her ankle mid way through our stay but thanks to everyone for making it so easy for her to get around and for changing our room to a more accessible one it didn’t affect the holiday. We stayed at Mount Cinnamon fir 14 nights - it was perfect and we shall return. The Island is truly amazing, with rain forest, soft sand beaches, great food, cocktails and a great line up of Rum. It’s not called Spice Isle for nothing. Mount Cinnamon has a great Cabana on the beach, serving drinks and lunches. We especially enjoyed the Beach BBQ on a Friday. The team there were all fab, Kevin the GM was a great host - and Shakira was stand out, as was Jade. They made us feel so at home, they we’re helpful, and really accommodating. Breakfast were great, and we enjoyed a few dinners in. Our Villa, Villa 9 has amazing views of the beach, St George’s and the harbour. It comes with a fully kitted out kitchen, if you wanted to cook yourself. If you want a stroll out for dinner, Grand Anse beach has several bars and restaurants all within a 10 min walk, enjoying great views. The Island has had few cases of Covid (like a hand full), but only recently stopped its 11pm curfew. We never felt compromised, Mount Cinnamon and pretty much all the other places we visited all follow a strict Covid policy - no vaccinations no entry and no mask no entry. So don’t forget to take your phone with the NHS App on it with you at ALL times - otherwise you will be turned away. Interesting, Mount Cinnamon ensure all its staff are vaccinated and they took daily temperature checks and the place was spotless, and I mean spotless.
