Lovely welcome from Amanda. The bed was comfortable and the pillows Lovely but the room needs updating. TV has great selection of channels , caught up in I ate in the restaurant in the evening. The service was personal and welcoming. The Tapas was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend it. Great experience for a solo female.

We arrived at michelangelos and were greeted in to an almost empty room, which means it's an quiet and easy service for the staff. The front of house were friendly when we were seated, they took our drink orders and we ordered some bread to share while we waited for the others joining us. The bread took easily 30 minutes to come out, it was nice, but waiting that long really shouldn't happen just for bread. Then we ordered 5 pizzas and they took about 20 minutes to arrive and when they did two of them had solid black burnt crusts underneath and one was soggy and the dough was still slightly raw. They two burnt pizzas were replaced straight away, but the raw pizza was just left and the staff didn't ask why I wouldn't eat it and never once came over to ask if everything is alright. I could understand mistakes on a busy Friday or weekend, but a Tuesday night with less then 10 people in the restaurant is appauling. I will definitely not be coming back to Michelangelos again and would recommend anywhere else if you want decent meal.

Ordered a Sunday lamb dinner and a half of orange and water. At first I thought lamb to be lambs live and no roast potatoes. I could not cut through veg, so I complained. Waitress took plate away and said that she would get veg cooked correctly. As I sat waiting for meal to be returned, the head waiter thought I had finished. I explained to him the situation and he informed me that veg cooked "al dente", I explained to him that veg not cooked correctly. The waitress returned my plate and again the veg not cooked correctly. I called waiter over to allow him to inspect the veg, he agreed, not cooked. He told me to eat rest on plate and that he would bring me a fresh portion of cooked veg, I must admit when he said eat and leave veg , I thought he meant he would give me a "doggy bag" containing veg to take away. Anyway I ate mash, meat and yorkshire pudding then he returned with a tray full of veg. Not looking forward to eating veg on its own I tipped veg onto plate and set about eating it. I cut or tried to cut into a sprout, uncooked, tried broccoli uncooked, potatoes uncooked. I left the table and plate full of uncooked veg and complained to the waitress again, she did apologise however still paid full price for meal. Will never go there again for a Sunday dinner.

Excellent food especially the gluten free choices, the rooms are excellent too and great value for money. I arrived late and the staff were brilliant in checking me in quickly so I didn’t miss dinner, I was glad didn’t miss it either!

Just spent 5 nights in Michaelangelo’s and was very impressed. I used to live locally and like to revisit the area once a year or so and having seen it on the Hotel Inspector decided to give it a try. The room was of a very good size and a really comfortable bed. Was spotlessly cleaned each day with refreshment tray topped up. I ate breakfast daily which contained both a continental table (although a bit limited) and cooked option. You could basically have what you want from a full English to a bacon sandwich, egg on toast etc. Everything I had was very good although a menu would help rather than just having to ask. I also ate in the restaurant one of my five nights and this was very good too. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful and made the stay totally excellent. The only thing that makes this 4 star instead of 5 were a couple of minor things with room: Shower was very state of the art but far too hot and despite 5 days of trying I couldn’t turn it down, wardrobe as huge but only 4 hangers and no sections in it for storing folded clothes etc. A very comfy chair for relaxing in but no additional chair to use with the more than adequate work surface meaning I had to do work on my knee. Bedside table on one side of bed but not the other. Windows were frosted as all rooms on ground level but tricky to open and didn’t let much light in. Very dark for reading. All of above very trivial in terms of overall experience. Had I had any issues I’d have brought them up. Just mentioning for general feedback as could be easily addressed and hotel maybe not even aware. I’d return without hesitation and. will.
