This was truly a fantastic house to rent on Islay. I used to visit Islay when I was a teenager and fondly remembered Kilchoman beach. I was thrilled to get the opportunity to take my family (my daughter is named after the island) to this beautiful part of the world. We were out every day exploring these largely empty beaches...

The cottage we had was one of a row of four terraces. It was well equipped. The location is next to a lovely beach which when we walked on it, we had it more or less to ourselves every time. There is no phone signal, but that was not a problem for us, some may not like that. The road...

Good basic accomodation for exploring the island with a chance of seeing Golden Eagles from the back door! The is electric heating and we thought the coal fire was a novelty but it did get used several times. A main improvement would be a decent shower instead of what must be an expensive use of water and electricity for a...

Stayed here with family for a week, very clean comfortable house, with everything you need for a lovely stay. Machir Bay a short beautiful walk over the hill. Be warned phone and Internet almost non existent, and no nearby shops. It is just a very beautiful peaceful place.

We spent a week in April with family at Kilchoman House Cottages. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped with extras provided by David and Caroline. The location was outstanding particularly the nearby distillery and the beautiful beach at Machir Bay - you may also be lucky enough to see a Golden eagle! A perfect base to explore...

We hired the whole street to go for a week on Islay with a family & friends. We all found the cottages very well equipped and kept to a high standard. We were supplied with a generous amount of peat, coal & wood to burn on the fire. We hardly needed to see the hosts but the one time we did,...

Lovely two storey cottages in a special place. We were warmly welcomed by Ian & Margaret (our hosts) and used our cottage for 6 nights as our base for the exploration of Islay. We included hikes out our back door over the top of Turnaichaidh, and evening walks to nearby Machir Beach. We hiked at Portnahaven, Saligo, Oa, Upper Killean,...
