We were heading to Forest Walks Lodge which I had booked due to the many good reviews on Trip advisor. We drove in late one afternoon. There had been a large storm the night before and the unsealed road, (which was way off the beaten track), was littered with branches and leaves. Our petrol was low, there was no mobile...

I organised a stay here as part of birthday trip to Tasmania for my adult son due to his passion for sustainable living and environmental conservation. We were not disappointed as Sean and Rosemary are dedicated to the 'eco' philosophy and in fact have a vast amount of experiences living and working 'green'. The lodge itself is very comfortable, clean...

Dear reader I am a fan of walking and have done both the walks listed above but nothing compares to the fantastic verging on magical rainforest walk Sean took us on. I have done many walks and this was the best by far. Truly peaceful and in awe of the wonders of the rainforest. I am a 5 star type...

This remotely located property is truly setup as an eco friendly location. With it's rustic feel and appearance, you can't help but relax as soon as you enter. Don't let the tag "eco" fool you, Sean and Rosemary make you feel very welcome and put on brilliant meals that would easily rival some of the city restaurants. Fitness Centre? What...

The term "eco" gets bandied around a lot, but in my experience it's a weasel word that rarely lives up to the hype. I was so pleased to find that Forest Walks Lodge is the real deal. The hosts Sean and Rosemary are veterans of the conservation movement who have obviously poured their collective heart and soul into creating the...

A truly wonderful place to stay that lives up to the excellent reputation given to it by the preceding reviews. The setting is gorgeous and peaceful and the lodge interacts well and with respect for the surrounding wilderness. Sean and Rosemary are delightful and Sean is a magician in the kitchen!!! My partner and I are vegan and Sean was...

What a great find Forest Walks Lodge is. Chose it after reading other reviews on Trip Advisor and it didn't disappoint! No television, no phones....just quietness and calmness...just what we wanted! Rosemary and Sean are great hosts....we did the dinner, bed and breakfast package and it was great! Local venison, veges from the garden and in the morning eggs from...

This property lives up to its great reputation. Everything is Eco- friendly, from the thoughtfully constructed lodge with it's sustainable energy and water supply, to the ducks keeping the bugs under control in the vegetable garden. We spent 3 glorious days waking to morning sun creeping its way across Jacky's Marsh to the craggy tops of mountains on the opposite...

Had a phenomenal time here! Comfortable, fantastic food and all so sustainably achieved in lovely surrounds. Nice mix of quiet, private rooms and a friendly, homely feel; exactly what I'm looking for in a brief return to my beloved home-state. I really appreciated all the environmental initiatives: conscientiously designed lodge, solar and hydro power, the voluntary land conservation for wildlife,...

The reviews that talk about being a bit conscious about your use of electricity and the sustainable approach of this environmentally aware couple are absolutely true. If you want starched sheets and high end hotel accommodation then stick with the run of the mill. However, as a seasoned traveller, I have to say that the experience of Forrest Walk Lodge...
