We stayed at Mounu island resort in 2014. One of the best weeks in our lifes. What a fantastic resort! A relaxed atmosphere with excellent accommodation, charming owners and staff. Great hospitallity. Beautiful beaches. Restaurant with a superb menu and lovely view. Hope to come back again to see some whales, snorkle and perhaps try kiting.

It's the perfect island, in a prefect setting, Captain Cook could come around the next door island anytime and you would not bat an eyelid. The South Pacific as you hoped it would be. The owners only add value to your experience and will leave you laughing yourself to sleep as the Pacific laps at your door. I wish I...

On arrival from a stay at another Vava'u island, my wife and my jaws were almost dropping in the water on our boat transfer approach to this place. It is the quintessential remote, tropical island paradise. Only 8 guests staying at any one time in four fales, two of which are on the windier side of the small island (#'s...

Close to heaven. It's absolutely lovely place they have built for themselves and to share with you. Thanks again for your hospitality and invitation, Svenja and I had a very nice visit with you and hope to return sooner than later.

We have just returned from three nights spent on Mounu and wanted to thank Bo and the team who looked after our every need so well. Love the emphasis on Eco tourism....

We stayed in the Superior Room for 5 nights on Mounu Island Resort. This is a beautiful secluded island that takes approx 10 minutes to walk around. We did have a few issues at the domestic airport at Nukualofa (both there & back), which we discovered was not uncommon in the least. First they didn't want to let us on...

My wife, her parents and a couple who are friends of ours descended on the island from various parts of the world for what is has become an annual tradition. (Yes, we are those mentioned in the previous review ...not sure why a couple would write 2 reviews ?). We travel extensively and are lucky enough have the choice to...

Neiafu: If you have a chance to visit the market, please do!! Make sure you barter for a good price on goods and don't feel bad about doing it. I purchased a whale necklace. Whilst thinking about it and um-ing an ah-ing, the lady had reduced her price from 120 TOP to 80 TOP. In retrospect (and in examining similar...

Swimming with humpback whales was number 1 on my wife's bucket list. This seemed to be a bizarre idea and we didn't even know if it was even possible. The only way to find out was to start doing some research. So, after endless hours searching the internet, and much to our surprise, the idea was actually feasible. It appeared...

I was there around 2007 but this experience has a special place in my heart so I'm writing about it only now. I believe since then nothing has changed or if it has it must have been an improvement if its possible to improve something perfect. Beautiful little island with few little cottages "into the wild" style, beatiful people, food...
