Billabong Gardens, Newtown This hostel was very clean and well laid out, the rooms having individual lamps and plugs for each bed. However, although the staff were friendly enough when my friend and I stayed here we felt unwelcome, most people living here seem to be here long term and therefore seem to not want to speak to anyone just...

I stayed for three nights in a double room with shared bathroom in the terrace house, away form the main hostel with dorms and rooms with own bathrooms. I stayed in a room upstairs with no common walls to other rooms, there were only two others opposite. The room was comfortable with a tele, a fan, the mattress was just...

Great mix of hostel and hotel. Friendly staff, great location, very clean. Cheap weekly rates! Lots of different guests. It is not a huge place, so the atmosphere is very personal if you stay a while and get to know everyone. Newtown is the best area in Sydney!

You get exactly what you pay for - nice balance between soul-less chain hostels and complete dives.. Old fashioned but kept very clean. Excellent value on weekly accom rates. Thought it would be a little bit more lively.. But so far a very good experience.. Newtown is a funky town to be in good first stop in Sydney..

This place is good if you want to be close to Newtown but that is about it. Our room was not particularly clean and the whole place had an unpleasant vibe to it. The staff are not really that helpful and I have subsequently discovered that there are much better hostel options if you want somewhere central in Sydney.

Also stayed here whilst in Newtown for a gig at the Enmore. Have stayed at a few other places around here and found this place the best value for money. Our room was clean with its own bathroom, and very quiet. Had a really good night's sleep. It's not fancy but it has everything you need and the room is...

Great rooms - set out really well, cozy - TV heating/fan - bathrooms clean. It has a communal kitchen and fridge and a really nice backyard/outdoor area -...
