Nice, modern, spacious and clean room. Good beds. Beautiful view from our room/shower/balcony. Good breakfast. Nice location, close to Carara NP. The owner is very friendly. Only point of improvement: airconditioning will not be unnecessary luxury. It was quite hot in our room. Nevertheless, we would recommend this rancho definitely.

We did not have a better view than from Claudine's balcony where she serves het delicious breakfast with home-made bread and jam. Or with eggs and crepes. Claudine is very friendly and flexible. The apartments near the pool were good, though our friends would have like a 'closed toilet'. The place is very near Carara National Parc and the Pacific coast. We do recommend this place.

Claudine was very helpful from our initial communication prior to booking, right through our stay. She is genuinely interested in ensuring her guests have a comfortable stay. Their home in located on a beautiful piece of property in a residential neighbourhood. There are several casual restaurants within a five minute drive. We rented two rooms at Rancho Capulin; the Casita and the Terraza. Both were worth the fee paid and as described on their website. My husband and I stayed in the Casita and loved the concept of being immersed in nature (and even without AC, it was pleasantly cool at night despite the very warm temperatures during the day.) Showering in the morning while looking down into the forested area was heavenly. Our adult children stayed up in the Terraza and appreciated the bigger space, AC and private deck with plunge pool. Breakfast was served daily between 6:30 and 8:30 and was greatly appreciated especially before our 7am tour at Carara Park. If you are in the area, we would highly recommend Rancho Capulin.

We chose this place because of the proximity to the Tarcoles bridge, crocodile tour and the Carara national park. You really need a car to enjoy Costa Rica and you certainly do here as there’s nothing within walking distance. It has the most amazing views from the balcony from which we saw loads of wildlife in the garden - probably just as much as on our walk in the national park. Our room was clean and comfortable however as a light sleeper I did the fan and the fridge noisy. As many have commented - breakfast was amazing, one of the best on our trip. I’d thoroughly recommend staying here.

We spent our last night in Costa Rica with Claudine at her beautiful hillside home. The garden was lovely and the rooms very clean and comfortable. During our delicious breakfast we were entertained by 12 red macaws that flew past the porch and into a nearby tree. Highly recommend this tranquil oasis.
