Very disappointed with the rooms they were dated and not very clean. Torn curtains, outside table hadn’t been cleaned uncomfortable chairs outside. Had to ask for a bedside lamp, no cushions on the uncomfortable couches. Had to hot spot our phones to get internet connection. The restaurant food was worse on the weekend than when we arrived on Monday, no table service more like a local cafe. It wasn’t cleaned after each guest left the table , food on the floor. Proof of vaccination only required sometimes. The pool area needed cleaning , the glass fencing didn’t get cleaned the whole week we were there. With COVID you would expect that they consistently clean the gates that people are handling. No attention to detail bean bag chairs at the pool were mouldy, sand on the paving around the pool making it slippery . Overall I would not recommend this resort.

We came here for a Babymoon and felt very relaxed. The pool is lovely and there were lots of seats and umbrellas to lounge around. The location is great, being so close to the beach. Lagoon activities are great for kids! The rooms were a little underwhelming. A good investment would be flyscreens. We like to leave our windows/doors open for fresh air but had lots of little flies/bugs in the room all the time (also quite a few dead ones, would have thought the cleaners would remove them). The air conditioning is automated so when the doors open, the aircon turns off. It’s also automated based on the room temperature. We were unable to change the temperature and found the aircon very noisy, especially at night when it would start and stop. Also, a lot of the rooms that are ‘lagoon view’ are mostly garden with a slight water view through the trees. Overall, there’s a really nice vibe.

I am so pleased to read that overall you had an enjoyable stay with us, I note that you stayed in one of our recently refurbished rooms, thankyou for your feedback in regards to the fly screens for the rooms as an option in the future, whilst this is note currently planned please be assured your comments will be kept for any planned future additions to the accommodation rooms . I also note your comments in regards to the automatic AC, this forms part of the resort energy saving initiative at the resort with this practice of setting the AC to a standard temperature across most Accor properties, my sincere apologies for this meeting your personal expectations. I am pleased to note that we are currently working with our resort gardening team to identify trees that may be trimmed back to allow a clearer view of our resort lagoon from a majority of our rooms types, the team are hoping to have these works underway in the coming weeks. Foyer is beautiful. Pool is lovely. We had an overwater bungalow that was nicely furnished and had a nice view of the lake but the ‘re do’ has been done on the cheap - painting over the top of old paint. Would have liked to be able to order drinks pool side but you can’t have food or drinks in the pool area - weird for a resort - most serve in plastic glasses. Dining options lacking. No room service - take away option from restaurant but have to go and line up and wait with your buzzer. Okay for us but I can imagine that would be annoying if you had kids asleep in the room amd wanted something to eat. Sola restaurant is so badly in need of a renovation. Paint peeling, furniture old and grubby. No under cover walk way areas which made it tricky in the rain. No airport shuttle. Overall it was fine but we would choose somewhere else next time.

There is a number of issues at the resort. Normally we accept our room but as a platium member our room was below par and damage in the room. The bathroom door wouldn't shut. The room was not due to be cleaned for 5 days and had to ask for the room to be cleaned even though it cost more to stay over Christmas. Resturants well what can I say very average and feel for the staff due to a lack of numbers there is no service. But being an Accor member is not worth at this resort due to black out periods which are not advised. Xmas eve dinner by 6pm. The surprise was NYE eve by 3pm!!! Dinner no room for guest anywhere to eat so take away only but no membership privileges. Activities where limited due to weather but shut early when we where able to get out. Parking very limited in our wing and I would say no where enough. We also went to reception a few times and wait time was long even though no one around. Our room had the resturant flood lights on all night and yes curtains would work if they where able overlap but broken. Kids Running around all hours and knocking on doors but security keeping the pool very safe. This is our annual trip and to say we where disappointed would be an understatement.

Good Morning Damo , Thank you for sharing your feedback and thank you for your loyalty in being an Accor Plus Platinum member, I note your Trip advisor feedback from last year’s stay also, my sincere apologies for not meeting your personal expectations for your stay, the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort Team works hard to deliver to our guest expectations and to see that we have not done this is very disappointing; please accept my sincere apologies for this. I note that from your pictures posted that you were in one of our 1 bedroom suite rooms, I am pleased to advise that these room types make up a majority of our continued scheduled refurbishment planned for 2022, our resort rooms have already been completed so the team are very excited to bring these rooms into line with the rest of the resort. My sincere apologies for the blackout discount periods, whilst these are advised on the membership T&Cs and on the members website , please be assured I have asked the team on site and Accor Members services to review where this can be done in a more effective manner for our valued members. It is disappointing that the weather during your stay was not the best, I note that the strong winds would not allow for the Catamarans to be operational during these better weather days, again my apologies for this impacting your stay as well. Be assured that all constructive feedback is shared with the team and work shopped accordingly for action and improvement. I am pleased to note that the resort is continuing a full rooms refurbishment in 2022 as well as the addition of two new dining options for our guests. Complex looked a little tired and bungalow, although top of their range and a premium price, was not worth the money. Comfortable bed but the unit was spartanly appointed and lacked the little extras that one would expect at that price; such as bowl of fruit, champagne, chocolates, etc, Not even any attempt to decorate for Christmas. Breakfast was quite adequate without being first class and the allowance of Covid non-vaccinated guests into the dining area, despite signs banning their entry, wasn't appreciated. Kitchenette lacked a sink, balcony furniture was minimal, mould in the shower and bird dung caked on the bathroom window lessened the unit's appeal Booking in on-line was a waste of time because we had to go through the full process again on arrival. Even for Christmas prices, the unit was grossly over-rated.
