OK. This was a splurge for my birthday. A real castle. Or chateau. Whatever… A huge house a couple rooms shy of the Queen. We had the Pommard room which took up like one-third of the top floor of one wing. We had to go up the stone steps in a turret to get to it. There was a huge...

We stayed at de Chateau de Melin for two nights and had a very nice experience. First off all we got an upgraded room which was very nice!! It's a very beautiful place with a lot of different wine castles in the area. We rented some bikes from a camping ground and had a ride around in the wine yards....

Stayed in the Gevery Chambertin Suite - beautiful bedroom with high ceilings and plenty of space . A unique dining table in the room made a room picnic of french goodies fun . This little slice of paradise, tucked away in the hills outside of Beaune, is a superb hotel! Run by a family, the castle is spectacular. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are really comfortable, something that was not lost on my family. The owners did a great job of renovating the old chateaux and keeping its original charm...

Our family stayed at Chateau de Melin during our February visit to Burgundy. It was wonderful and host Helene very helpful. We were all looking forward to the breakfast every morning. The breakfast room had a beautiful fireplace and the music was a wonderful addition to the experience.

Weaving along the roads of the cote d'or of Volnay and Pommard one reaches this Bed and Breakfast, or "chambre d'hote". Breakfast is taken collectively in a huge, lovely family room complete with fire place. Chateau De Melin is absolutely the place to stay in Burgandy. The Derats and their cousin Jean treated us like family. They took care of our every need! By my standards, Chateau de Melin was outstanding! It was in a good location for visiting other chateaus, castles, wineries, and close to good restaurants. Hosts were fantastic and the breakfasts were spectacular with everything freshly baked. Accommodations were excellent. Every room has been recently renovated. Big comfortable beds and lots of space. Powerful showers. I highly recommend staying here...

“we had a room on the second floor with a balcony in the building across from the main house. Our hosts were excellent and very charming. They took care of our every need, and when they were not busy, would come over to talk and help with daily planning. Ask about the local restaurants, and good winery visits. When we were there, it was harvest time, so we didn't have a chance to see the winery operations at the Chateau”
