Mystic River Resort is such a beautiful place. My family of 6 stayed there in early January 2022. Petro, Peter, and their staff were awesome. It first started with the reservations. I was having trouble finding the right place that would work for the 6 of us. Petro was very helpful in offering to add beds to their 2 bedroom unit which also had 2 bathrooms. This worked out great. Our check-in was quick and easy and their staff had the room set up and ready. Due to the covid testing, my daughter and partner were not able to make it to Belize until a day after we, and Peter was very helpful checking in with us about her arrival. He had his staff go to the end of the road and meet her so she knew exactly where to turn. Petro was great at assisting us with scheduling last-minute tours and massages. The bar and the restaurant were in a very tropical setting with a beautiful view of the river and the jungle. We particularly loved hanging out in the bar area getting to know Leo and Steve. They were helpful with questions about the area and made great drinks. They also shared the jobs in the restaurant where the service and food were awesome. The restaurant is a beautiful setting with a lot of bird action. We loved just relaxing there and watching the wildlife. Unfortunately, it rained a lot while we were there and we did not get to use the pool. But it has recently been remodeled and looked very inviting. I will go back just to relax at the pool. I have nothing to say that I disliked about this place. It was perfect and the rain just made it more enchanting. The road is a bit of fun and something to talk about but not that bad once you have done it. And it certainly adds to the adventure. We love it here and will return.

This was an amazing place, When we were looking for a hotel, we were looking for a treehouse in the jungle. Not finding one that can accommodate a family, we decided to try Mystic River We arrived in the evening after a 2 hour car ride and a difficult road in the dark dark. It definitely felt we were in the jungle. As soon as we parked, two people came to the car. For an instant we thought we were going to be robed. but they said they were helping us with the luggage. At that time we found that one bag was left at the car rental 2 hours away. Before we even got to the front office we were greeted by the owner. She took us to a reception hut that looked like something out of a movie. Within a few minutes, we had pre-ordered dinner, planned and made reservations for a tour of the ATM caves for next day, arranged for someone to knock on the door to wake us up, and they sent someone back to retrieve our luggage. They also provided toiletries and tee shirts to get through the night. We found it quite different than the photos on the web site. The rooms in the pictures appeared to be low huts. Each room is its own building and because of the way they were situated on the hill, the back of the buildings overlook the river from above giving it the feel of a treehouse. The buildings are situated so that you can see any other buildings the deck, so it does feel like your in the middle of the jungle. They will bring freshly brewed coffee to your room so you can enjoy it overlooking the river. The areas around the buildings are well maintained so that you don't fear any creatures at your unit. The rooms were spacious, have cathedral ceilings. Most of the areas we were brand new, or very close to it. It was all immaculately kept. We were able to preorder breakfast so we could have it before our tour and dinner so it would be ready when we returned. They packed us towels and bags for our wet cloths and since my eye glass retainers were in my lost luggage, they actually made me one for the tour. When we returned they took our wet laundry and shoes to be done overnight, while we went right to dinner. When we finished, the lost luggage was in our room. We were planning for a roughing-it jungle experience, but instead we got a first class boutique experience. We are still raving about every aspect of our stay..

It’s been a long time since we have been this spoiled. They anticipated our every need. The food was incredible. The resort was so beautiful. We even built a fire our last night. Our host and hostess was so accommodating. They even had our shoes cleaned after a muddy day of golfing. I highly recommend this resort!

My mom and I, both experienced travelers, stayed at Mystic for 6 nights in late December and we recommend everyone to visit this jungle paradise. There is wide range of activities such as hiking, cave visits, horseback riding, botanic gardens, historical ruins, a small cano trip to a small natural beach on the other side of the river bank and much more. The staff will help you to select and tailor activities to your specific needs and wishes. We did the ATM cave, a small trip to a local market in San Ignacio and the mystic guided hike (hiking in the jungle, swimming/relaxing at a natural pool and horseback riding). We also hiked trails on the property by ourselves and borrowed a cano to relax on the beach on the other side of the river. All were wonderful. And just waking up in the jungle, listening to howler monkeys, watching hummingbirds is an amazing experience. All staff including guides are super friendly and welcoming, our special thanks to the managers Petra and Peter - they are truly world-class professionals. We always felt safe and in good hands! Finally, Mike who drove us both from the airport to Mystic and all the way to Placencia was very kind and told us everything about Belize. THANK YOU!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mystic River resort, it was amazing . Full disclaimer: if you’re looking for your typical hotel with Wi-Fi in the room a TV hanging or even a phone this is not your resort ….but if you’re looking for something bigger something grand or something more adventurous something more beautiful and peaceful and nature oriented this resort delivers . 8,10,12 and mom/dad had one of the best trips we’ve ever had . There was so much to do from nature hikes to iguanas zoo to the ATM caves which we highly recommend it was just amazing !! The food was fantastic ( not cheap but good value), the staff was incredibly friendly and went way out of their way to help us with anything (The head chef accommodated all of our unique needs for example my sons eighth birthday he cooked him a steak dinner and a surprise chocolate mousse cake which was just delicious )we needed. The people and this place we truly one of a kind .
