Macaw Bank was an excellent experience. The hosts and staff were extremely attentive to the dishes served, our accommodations, and daily activities. The meals were SUPERB, and we could not wait for our next. Ron and Al, proprietors, made us feel like family, and we learned so much about the local culture. We stayed in the Butterfly Cabana which was...

Our family started out 2017 at McCaw Bank Jungle Lodge. Our ages are 54, 59, 20 and 22. McCaw Bank Jungle Lodge was every thing we hoped for and more. It is small and intimate, beautiful and so accommodating. Ron, the owner, is the most gracious host. He is so much fun to chat with. He truly cares and wanted...

Our 2 families of 4 arrived at Macaw Bank in late March to be welcomed by Ron who is a great host. Ron arranged all of our trips for us. We loved waking up early to see all of the birds, playing in the river and trekking around the property. The food and drinks were great as well--thanks for accommodating...

We love to hike and explore, but have not been adventure tourists before. We stayed here back in March 2013 with a 17 year old and a 13 year old. The hiking on the property and tubing on the river were great for times when we didn't want to leave but needed something to do. Breakfast and dinner were delightful...

I stayed at Macaw Bank Jungle Lodge 9 years ago when it had just opened. I was blown away then at the relative luxury in the middle of the jungle. And 9 years later I am still blown away by it. The setting cannot be beat! They are just up from a swimmable river (no crocodiles) and have a huge...

This is a beautiful and quiet place to stay. Real jungle experience. Nice trails walking to the Jungle and the river. We enjoyed watching toucans and a few pair of beautiful parrots in the morning. River is nice and clean and we had fun swimming in this Macaw river.

We stayed here for three days. The owners were more than welcoming to us when we arrived just before dark. (The drive from San Ignacio was only 8 miles, however we couldn't have done it without a 4 wheel drive!) The food for the three days was wonderful, too! Such a great cabana - a no bugs, either! Just the...

If you are looking for a real, immersive, jungle experience this is the place for you! Ron was so welcoming and the cabins are put together with thought and care. The outdoor shower was my favorite part! The food was incredible so the more meals you have here, the better! It is set back deep into the jungle, about 15...

We stayed at this small resort for 3 nights and loved it. I'd recommend getting a lift from the airport. (The host, Ron, can put you in touch with a company that does this). Our driver was a wealth of knowledge and geniality. The whole place is off the grid and tries to use mostly solar power, with some generator....
