Like everyone else, my husband and I were blown away by Black Rock. Its located down a rocky road but the reward is at the end when you reach the beautiful lodge in the jungle. It's secluded so it's about 20mins from San Ignacio but the hotel offers everything you need. The grounds are beautifully kept while maintaining the natural...

We have stayed at Black Rock twice now, and will definitely return on our next visit to Belize. Top ten reasons: 1) birds, 2) bees (we are entomologists), 3) rooms (clean and quiet), 4) canoeing the Macal River, 5) guides Giovanni and Elvis, 5) great place to hike, 6) wonderful food, 7) dinner set up so that you meet the...

2 Weeks ago, my husband, his sister, brother-in-law and I spent 4 nights at Black Rock……… and I can't recommend this lodge enough. First of all, the beauty of the jungle left me in awe, all the adventures were guided with a super knowledgeable guides, and the staff was absolutely wonderful in every way! A few shout outs to Hendry...

I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is -- stunningly beautiful, delicious food, and so many choices of interesting things to do. Although most impressive for me was the staff. I don't think I've ever been to a hotel/lodge where every person who worked there was exceptional. They were attentive with the sensitivity to know when to give...

This review is WAY overdue. We visited this past winter and our busy lives back in the states pushed this review to the back burner. My wife and I are now planning this years trip and all the memories from last year are surfacing. We arrived by driving our rental car into the lodge. Not that bad a drive and...

We didn't know what to expect when leaving San Ignacio to Black Rock Lodge. The drive is roughly 25 minutes to the resort from the city and what a beautiful drive it was. We drove which made the experience much better than taking a taxi or shuttle. Upon our arrival we were treated with complimentary cocktails and taken aside for...

Within our drive up the rocky path to the Black Rock Lodge we fell in love with it. Hidden among the jungle-massed mountains the views are stunning, some of which can be viewed from the refreshing outdoor pool. The staff are both friendly and knowledgable and there's plenty of tours/adventures to choose from to keep you busy. If there's a...

It's not fair to just say that the location is spectacular when everything about Black Rock is done so well and with such personal attention. From the beautiful dining services with an amazing view to wonderful "cabins" to so many fun and adventurous activities, your only regret is likely to be that you don't have an additional day to stay....

When we took the turnoff to Black Rock Lodge, we had no idea where we were going, deeper and deeper into the rainforest, passing through orchards, and cattle farms. It was such a build up, and it did not disappoint. We fell in love straight away with the amazing view from the deck, and instantly asked to spend another night...
