We began our January 2015 trip to Belize with 3 nights at BRL, and it was a lucky starting point. Unfortunately, our other Belize destinations paled in comparison, and we wish we had stayed a week instead! The cabin was perfect, with great attention to detail including fresh hibiscus flowers and cleverly folded towels. On our deck overlooking the river,...

Black Rock Lodge is everything I could have wished for a vacation. The plane landed to warm sunshine, and we were met by a lodge representative, Isaias. He was so happy and helpful. As he drove us to the lodge, he pointed out interesting details and answered all our questions. The lodge is beautiful; set on a mountainside, overlooking the...

Seriously one of the most beautiful places on earth! The natural location is absolutely stunning, much more beautiful to the naked eye than what can be captured with a camera. The wildlife is abundant. The organic garden grows food for the restaurant. The beds are super comfortable. The design is simple yet elegant. The guides for the excursions really know...

Beautiful grounds and kind staff, but we had a very uncomfortable and borderline scary experience with a very homophobic guest who disapproved of my fiancee and me (a female, gay couple). We asked not to be seated with him at the group dinners, which you can only take family style, but they then seated us with him. It was uncomfortable...

Beautifully simple rooms with elegant decor, marble tile and clean lines. We were lucky to get a last minute reservation, due to a cancellation. The room felt so private we thought we were the only people there. Hammock time, listening to the sound of the river then wandering down later for a swim. Just us. Heaven. Somehow everyone spread out...

Black Rock Lodge has always exceeded our expectations straight from the word go. Be it the scenic drive to the lodge, the greeting, the view, the rooms, or the service. All of it has blown us away. Last year we visited for the first time and fell in love with Black Rock. We had an amazing experience and a few...

Loved this lodge, the peace & relaxation was superb, chilling in a hammock overlooking the river with a broad range of unusual birds, a perfect way to spend the morning. Had not expected the excellent bird life as it is a farming area. Food mainly sourced from site, very fresh & well cooked. Guides were pleasant, knowledgeable & easy to...

Black Rock is a beautiful property - from the cabins to the hiking trails and common areas, it's a serene and perfect place to spend time. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate all requests, and the food is excellent. It was difficult to drag myself away at the end of my visit. Could not have asked for...

To say that the staff at Black Rock Lodge takes care of their guests is an understatement. Don't let the road to Black Rock scare you away from staying at this gem. While bumpy, the landscape is truly amazing. We loved the rows of Teak Trees before arriving at the lodge. You soon realize that the trek you made to...

We enjoyed a wedding and reception hosted by the Black Rock Lodge. The staff was attentive and friendly. As I understand it, they do not usually do weddings. But you would not have guessed that as the whole thing was well organized and the staff put the hearts into it. The food was unexpectedly amazing. The chef is obviously very...
