Some of these reviews are ridiculous and paint a very bad picture. Firstly 'you get what you pay for in life' If you expect 5 star treatment then pay some more for your holiday and book into Sandals. Seriously, what do people expect? You may not love the food but dont book an all inclusive if you are that picky. The menu is varied to suit a range of nationalities - the British being one of these. My experience of all inclusive - across the world, is that the food is repetitive and generally a bland 'western' version of the local cuisine. I f you expect more then eat in the local restaurants thus supporting the local economy and reducing the amount of under privileged locals on the beach attempting to make a living. In my opinion many of these reviews are from.people with 'champagne expectations' on a coca cola budget. I could not fault the friendly and welcoming reception that we received from EVERY member from staff, from the minute we arrived until the minute we checked out. The bar staff, the entertainment, the housekeeping crew, the local taxi company, the tour guides, I have never seen so many friendly smiles and engagement from a hotel like this in a long time. Yes the rooms are a bit tired and yes there are vendors on the beach but this is life in St Lucia. Of course they are recovering from the pandemic like so many countries that rely heavily on tourism. I honestly feel embarrassed by the pompous reviews that have been posted on here. 100% percent I would recommend this hotel. If you want to be made welcome, to feel a part of the Rodney bay culture, to be able to relax in a super friendly atmosphere then this is the place for you. Also - contrary to the last review ( mr/mrs , 'I dont have the income to match my expectations'' ) I highly recommend booking a tour from the beach vendors. We had the best afternoon ever, on a speed boat visiting the bat cave, water fall, mud bath, snorkelling, and all the while drinking local rum and having an absolute fantastic time enjoyed by all! Anyone reading this - please dont be put off by these key board warriors! This is a fantastic place to stay ;-)

The hotel itself is good, I know there are some really bad reviews but it’s worth mentioning pros and cons as to why. We stayed here for 7 nights and overall enjoyed our time at the hotel. Outside the hotel is entirely a different story. Pros Hotel room was nice spacious cleaned daily with a great view of the pool. AC worked well Staff friendly and pleasant Chic restaurant food was good Mahi for lunch was good Pool bar great service from guys and cocktails were delicious Entertainment good during day and evening Cons Everything is very expensive in St Lucia not worth the money when you go shopping, duty free expensive better off getting from Heathrow much cheaper. Room flooring could do with fixing I got a splinter from the dodgy floorboards, sometimes water flow wasn’t great but it was minor. WiFi was intermittent again minor. Food limited at times breakfast choice was awful for all inclusive should be better choice and quality of food everything was always overcoooked and very oily. We had no kettle or coffee maker in room had to request 5/6 times eventually we got it on day 2 with alot of pestering but it was dirty and had to be changed again. Vendors on the beach were sooooo annoying and aggressive ruined the beach experience they are hostile, scary, demanding money or drinks from bar, asking a lot of personal questions don’t let you enjoy the beach at all and there is no security on beach should make that section private or have security on beach permanently. It’s best to book excursions through hotel much safer and cheaper than beach vendors. Also don’t venture out alone get a driver as it’s dangerous we got approached whilst walking to local shops asking for money then in shopping mall were followed by a group who were talking pictures and videos of us and sending onto to others for targeting, be very wary, the hotel does ask for room number when you leave and return like a register but this is for your safety to make sure you arrive back safely which doesn’t paint a good picture. Overall hotel and staff were lovely but didn’t have a great impression of st lucian people outside hotel, just want to rip you off and it isn’t safe. We did do an excursion with taxi company and that was good experience as he stayed with us and guided us, saw Pitons and Sulphur springs. Overall would I return to St Lucia…. definitely not.

If you do not like hot water or the availability to have water for several hours per day, stay here. If you don’t value your privacy, stay here. If you don’t mind numerous hotel staff in your room at the same time, despite the do not disturb sign, stay here. If you prefer a rude and unhelpful front desk staff, book your vacation here. If you prefer being bothered by numerous vendors the moment you touch the sandy beach, book your room here. If a comfortable bed isn’t on your list of important accommodations, lay your head here on old beds and even older pillows. If you prefer to have to say your room number very time you leave or return this compound, please book your reservations now. If you prefer dial up internet or pay $10USD per day to stay connected, ring the reservation desk. If you enjoy behind held hostage at a hotel because they charge you at check-in and “per policy” refuse to issue a refund, give this hotel all your money.

Just returned from three weeks at Mystique. The hotel is compact and the staff are super friendly. Was welcomed by Chistel at reception. All inclusive band is also door key which was great. Room was lovely and large with divided sitting and sleeping areas. Large bathroom with rainfall shower and multiple jets. Always plenty of hot water and towels We found wi fi was good in our room. Enjoyed the food plenty of choice in buffet breakfast, lunch was al a carte, could also use snack bar on the beach. Dinner was a mixture of buffet some nights and al a cart. Thanks to Marthalina who looked after us every morning. The beach is beautiful. Water was usually warm and calm. Lovely for swimming. We had few wavy days. Had no trouble getting a palapa and sunbeds as hotel was not busy. Lots of padded loungers with shade around the pool which looked nice but we didn't use as beach was so lovely. Hotel provide kyaks and paddleboards. Thanks to Greg the lifeguard who took us out on the hobby cat showing us all the points of interest on the way. Was really enjoyable. Rodney bay is about 10 mins slow walk. Only thing I would change is maybe having water fountains round the resort to provide fresh drinking water. Also if security could monitor beach vendors. Majority were pleasant and moved on after a chat but some wanted guests to go get alcohol for them. Would be nice to be able to enjoy your book instead. Overall we had a lovely holiday and enjoyed Mystique

We have just arrived home after a 1 weeks stay at this hotel, we all had a lovely stay, all the staff were very friendly, can’t remember every ones names , here’s a few, Pool bar Troy, Johnathon & Jamel were fabulous all so friendly & helpful & so welcoming, & fabulous cocktails. Nigela & all the restaurant staff all lovely, Perata on the egg station was always so friendly & happy. Chic restaurant had a lovely menu , They also have a lovely fish place you can visit on the beach, this hotel has a lovely beach, pool & amazing views & sunrises , This hotel is a small friendly hotel I do recommend it, I have noticed some very nasty reviews about this hotel, this is so unfair, as all the staff are working very hard I’m not really sure what people are complaining about, We also met some lovely people, this also makes the holiday. The hotel rooms are very big & all have a lovely view of the pool & beach, Keep up the good work, hopefully we will return One day Thank you all for looking after us, Sarah, Harvey, Joanne & George

We returned to Saint Lucia to celebrate our 5th anniversary - it was very nice. We actually had been upgraded from the Starfish as it remained closed, but it was very pleasant. We travelled in Sept and the resort was not completely full which made for great service, ease of access and we had the run of the place and got to meet lots of people without feeling overcrowded - very nice!! This is a smaller resort that is peaceful and relaxing with a bit of fun, music, drinks and food thrown in. If you want a giant party resort, this isnt for you. We arent parents, but I probably wouldnt bring kids under 16 here, there is no play area and they cannot run/jump at the pool, so maybe a family friendly resort would be better. Check in was nice and easy - I love that your bracelet is the room key - such a better idea!! Staff were friendly and we were provided a rum punch on check in. We were a little early for our room, so they showed us where to grab a drink and a bite to eat. Room was ready within a short time. Lots of closet space, nice robes and lots of plug ins and lighting. Room - Had a junior sweet - a king size bed that was separate from the living area, which we really enjoy. Had a kettle and a fridge that supplied bottled water. Im not going to lie, I would REALLY, REALLY have appreciated 2-4 bottles of beer a day too. Sometimes you just want to chill with a beer in your room and THAT would have been a little slice of luxury. I hope they consider adding that in the future. OR at least an option to get some bottled drinks brought to you. Bathroom was spacious - and the very generous size of the shampoo/conditioner/body wash & lotion was a surprise and good quality - I would not have brought mine with me had I known. Pillows were fluffy and not flat gross ones. Suzanne was our room hostess - what a WONDERFUL, gracious lady!! She recognized us from check in and came over to say hello and asked if there was anything else we could use etc etc. She did a lovely floral dressing to the room on a few extra days and she was a delight. She just made the trip extra special with her little extras. Bravo! Beach - a few days of rough waves, but if your careful you can manage. The beach is clean, nice to walk down and we didnt have a problem getting a palapa or chair. Towels could be signed out pretty much from 6 am to 6 pm and we never had a problem getting one. Chic - didnt try it (hubs forgot to bring pants to wear) Maui's - lovely. The crispy roti and the fish and chips and plain wings were my faves. grab a fresh beer, enjoy the view and have a nice lunch. L'Epicure - a mix of buffet and ala cart - all of the food was fine, some even very, very nice - Of note - the ala carte menu advertises things like "Corn soup with bacon, chive and crouton" I got the soup, but not the toppings. Had a few instances like that. I did ask for them, and received for the most part, but some attention to detail on these items would go a long way for the experience. Egg station - YAY! Poached eggs that I dont have to make - and there is ALWAYS bacon! The staff at the restaurant are friendly and did a good job Swim up bar- Troy & Jonathan - thank you so much for your friendly service, great drinks and sense of humour - we enjoy all of it very much and we enjoyed visiting with you each day. Oh - Folks, have the mimosas, they are lovely! Entertainment Team - Chantelle and Jasmine(?) awesome. Always could play a game of trivia for little prizes and she chipped into help when it got busy. We really enjoy the request hour so anyone could pick some songs to play. At night time they did have a variety of entertainment, steel drums, singer w/a fellow playing a keytar :D but it was good enough for us. We are usually in the room by 10 so we didnt need much. Things I didnt like: Always being approached on the beach - I dont need to buy a necklace at 8 am when I want to have a cup of coffee and read. Suggested Solution to the Management team: Have an area where these vendors can set up either a few times a week or once a day so that they can be approached by folks who want to see their stuff. I would probably have bought something if it was on my terms (Mexico has resorts that do this and its great) We do NOT ever buy travel excursions from the beach, use the team at the resort, they have lots to choose from and you are assured to get what you pay for (we have done the sunset cruise and the full day island package and both are excellent) Off the resort: We usually walk to the mall to take a peak around. There are nice vendors and some lovely local bits and pieces. We popped into the liquor store to get a few bevy's for the room - again, I wish the hotel provided these, but it was nice to go and grab a cider or two. We had a nice dinner at Matthew's (upstairs eatery on the main drag) Ox tail and had the catch of the day and both were excellent. We enjoyed it and would go back. Overall there was a welcoming, friendly atmosphere, nice quiet, relaxed vacation for us that covered all the bases. This was our 2nd time to Saint Lucia and we enjoyed it very much.

Ok, so lets be clear, because sometimes people get passionate about reviews and they are not detailed. So, this is more like a boutique. There is one small bar to get food throughout the day. You can get like paninis, chicken wings, alcohol, ice cream, etc... kind of like fast food but better. Ok, so there is one restaurant where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has a nice view. The food I thought was great. Not so much variety, but what they serve was delicious. There is always chicken, and vegetables, and rice and fish, and desserts are great. Some of the days they have a la carte for dinner and boy that food was great. There is one small restaurant, called Chic where you have to make reservations and that is really fine cuisine. The food was amazing and that's the truth. The drinks are not watered down. Entertaiment is short during the day, maybe 1 hour per day, and about 2 hours per night. Nothing crazy (singers, karaoke, fire entertainment). The pool is nice and the beach : FORGET ABOUT IT ( in a good way ). Really beautiful beach and I am Dominican where you have the best beaches in the world, but this was not by any means short of that beauty. And the people, boy were they genuinely kind. I loved them. They were very professional throughout and very friendly. Now, if you are looking for a super high end big resort, super polished and chick (Bahia Principe Bougainville la Romana, or Tulum in Mexico, or Sandals in Aruba, Catalonia Royal La Romana, Ocean Blue Punta Cana, Cayo Levantado Samana... should I go on?) this is not it. I personally enjoy more private and smaller places. I have been to really high end resorts and I feel is just full of arrogant people, who want to be catered. Also, for me personally when is too big it actually gets boring and it disconnects me we the locals, and it forces me to be there inside a hotel the whole time, thats why I rarely do all inclusive. The cons: The hotel is a bit old. It needs repairs and a revamping. The gym needs to be repainted. However, overall I liked it. Would I go back? Absolutely.

Just returned home from two weeks at the hotel. The staff are very helpful and kind, they couldn’t do more to help. However certain food and drinks because scarce, we were told that some foods and drinks were unavailable as the hotel had run out. This went on unfortunately for a couple of days. The rooms were very clean, although dated. We had received two double beds pushed together instead of the double bed that we paid for. The Chic restaurant is a great alternative to the buffet menu however this to started to run out of food and certain wine. The hotel would do well with a refurbishment and if they could employ more staff this would help make things run more smoothly. I also feel that more entertainment is needed, a pool table or a table tennis area etc would be great to keep guests entertained when the weather is not great. The beach was beautiful, the free water sports (kayaks, paddle boards etc) were fantastic - although I felt pestered at times by the ‘beach boys’ a guy named Lincoln especially. I overheard him trying to sell a ‘ package’ to go to the street party for $70. When I attended the party the week before it cost a total of $20 in the taxi. You must be cautious of the so called deals you’re receiving. The majority however were kind and happy to have a quick chat before moving on. There is a gorgeous fish bar called Marie’s at the end of the beach which is definitely worth a visit for fresh food and great company. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at St Lucia, it was a truly beautiful place but I do feel that the hotel is overpriced (via TUI anyway).

I have emailed the hotel, no reply. I have tried to call the numbers listed for hotel but am unable to get through. So unacceptable I have now made a complaint to TUI to get our money back. Shocking
