Took a cross country skiing tour in Ylläs. The weather was quite chilly, about -24 degrees celcius. On the way back to the starting point I stopped by at Seita. Friendly and quick service and the cocoa was good.
Hotel Seita and its cottages have been the perfect location for our holiday. This family owned hotel has everything you need to feel comfortable and "at home". The cottage was very nice with little kitchen, own sauna and fireplace. Our girls enjoyed sliding over to the restaurant each day and prepare their preferred waffle. We could everyday pack our sandwiches for the lunch and in the evening enjoy playing card games close to the fireplace after dinner.
We stayed in Seita hotel over the Christmas holiday and had an absolutely amazing time. We have stayed at several 5 star hotels and I can honestly say that the customer service at Seita beats any of the hotels we have ever stayed at. The staff was so friendly and incredibly responsive to anything we needed. We were quite blown away by their dedication to their customers. What made Seita above all of the rest was that the owners and all of the staff were so genuine in attending to their customers, which you just simply can't find even in a 5 star hotel. I was very impressed with how clean everything was too, including the cabin we stayed in. And the food was out of this world. Everything was made on the premises from local fresh ingredients and very well prepared. We didn't taste anything that wasn't absolutely delicious. We truly felt like we were staying with family. Can't wait to go back one day! …
My girlfriend and I went to Lappland for the week of the year and we stayed in Hotel Seita for 6 nights. The hotel itself is very cosy and rustic - wood enthusiasts will certainly love it. The facilities are very good with a great smoke sauna and a very charming Finnish hot tub. The service was great - they are always more than keen on helping and providing any information needed: from the sky renting to an extra warm soup. This leads to the next point, food. All the meals we had there are amazing - with special highlight to the new year's eve menu. There was a large variety and always quite fresh. We really enjoyed the stay and by the end we had that feeling that we wished we could have stayed a few days extra.
Didn't actually stay at the hotel but booked the traditional Finnish smoke sauna, hot tub outside (winter, snow, ice), and a wonderful dinner catered straight from the open fire. Soul rested, the dark lappish scenery and quiteness was wonderful. Considered that everything is warmed with logo (6 hours only for the sauna and tub) i don't consider the price high. Added with the friendly service. Highly recommended!
Very good hotel to be away from everything. Staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic but that is what is advertised (both by Hotelplan and the hotel itself, so no surprises here). On the improvement side (for a hotel advertised as renown for its food): it would be good to see a bit of more "modern" and low calories choices in the buffet. Food overall is not bad, even good but might be slightly monotonous for younger customers. It would be also good to have at least an opportunity to drink a real coffee (i.e. espresso). The wine selection could also be upgraded especially that charging over 200% premium on a bottle with no service seems on be on a higher end (though quite in line with the pricing of the other establishments in the neighborhood). Must try smoke sauna - very particular and great experience. All in all extremely warm welcome in the family owned hotel. Highly recommended and with those few minor updates it would deserve full "excellent" note. …
We were here in Äkäslompolo in Seita Hotel in Christmas time and my opinion this place is made for our family...peaceful and near nature. We get here delicious food and clean+cosy rooms. We will come here again for sure!!!

We were at Hotel Seita in Äkaslompolo from the 27th of December 2012 until the 3rd of January 2013. We rented a simple clean double room, were we felt very comfortable. The hotel staff is really nice and helpfull! The food is excellent. There is a buffet where you can taste various variations of local food. Always a choice of salads, excellent soups and really good quality meat. We enjoyed our stay a lot. You can walk to the centre of Äkäslompolo within 30 minutes. We enjoyed winter actitivites such as snow shoe walking, snowmobile, husky sledges etc. The hotel has a Sauna and a small swimming pool. We like the place and think about going back in the future.
