just got back from the Snow Elf with Tui. There's not a single thing we would change about the trip and had the most wonderful time. The staff were always jolly even the flight crew , the welcome party at Kitilla airport and the reps on the transfers playing  games and singing went above and beyond our expectations. The guys running snow club entertaining the kids with various activities throughout the day and evening with candy cane and bobsleigh the elves were brilliant.
The Lapland safaris elves were also very friendly. The coaches and trips were very well organised and seemed to run very smoothly.
The inclusive trip to snow village included snowmobile sleigh ride to get to Santa's cabin which was truly magical. We then did the husky ride. It was a very short run round but it was enough to say we'd done and I wouldn't have wanted longer. We then had a couple of hours to look round the Snowvillage grab a drink from the ice bar and play on the ice slide.
The next day we went on the reindeer sleigh ride which was an extra. started with berry juice and cookies in the farmers cottage where we learnt about the reindeer. Followed by the ride itself and a chance to feed the babies! We thoroughly enjoyed this trip. It lasted around 2 hours overall and again due to the cold and terrain you wouldn't want the sleigh ride more than the 30mins but it wasn't very clear what it entailed though I would recommend this trip.
The hotel itself was well located close enough to walk to some local shops and the frozen lake which was cool and a chance to see the northern lights.
We treated ourselves to a log cabin to stay which was very cute. Warm and comfy And a short walk from the main building My in-laws stayed in the hotel itself to save keep getting suited up to get to breakfast etc which was fine.
The hotel food was very nice I thought with a different soup/pasta/fish/meat dish every night and ample chips, salads breads and drinks. Breakfast was continental/cereals/cooked English pancakes and bread.
Our last night of the trip was the gala dinner. The entertainment and panto was excellent as we had come go expect from the trip. The only disappointment here was the food. It really wasn't good. cold ham or chicken nuggets was the only option accompanied by quite a poor choice of salad. And dessert was a gataux or erm gataux!
Overall it was a magical trip. I would love to go back and do it all again but I guess we'll have to wait for grandkids! I also really enjoyed going on boxing day as it beat that Lull between Xmas and new year. If you're thinking about going then please don't hesitate as you may regret not going!!

Spent 4 nights in this hotel with TUI 4 night break. We stayed in the standard 1 room apartment ( If available pay for the upgrade ) for 3 people these standard rooms are very small, while they were right next to the hotel, with a short walk to the restaurant but you couldn't swing a cat in the rooms, and very hard to walk around people.
there is a pool, which is open till 7 pm pool water does take time to get used to, would recommend using the pool area to get changed out of your outdoor gear due to the space of the standard rooms. The temperature was -16c and by the time we were leaving got warmer :) -6c / -8c.
The Food overall was nice can't complain, but the drinks in the Hotel themselves were extremely priced at 4.30 for soda and 9.30 euro for heinken. would recommend taking a walk down to the supermarket and getting your kids soda down there for 2euro.

For Gala Night was ok, for Covid it felt uncomfortable everyone packed into a room, I would skip it if I was going again. I would also recommend bringing with you a headlamp, there isn't much daylight over there at this time of the year "December"

We went here on a tui holiday and we stayed in one of the log cabins.
They were clean, warm and comfortable, you have your own fireplace with plenty of fire wood to keep you going. Outside the cabin windows all the trees are covered in snow and everything really is like the front of a postcard.
The food is pretty basic and there's not much choice which doesn't bother me I can eat anything not matter the taste or quality I am a mountain man. However for kids and weak individuals it's pretty much chips everyday. We opted to leave the hotel and walk 5 minutes down the road where there are three seperate restaurants and a supermarket where all the food is great and the prices are not to bad.
We done husky riding and snow mobiling. We done the snow mobiles adults only and I could not recommend it enough it really was once in a lifetime. However if you have kids be prepared to spend quite a bit of money for all the activities as other than the snow and local bars there's not a lot for the children to do.
We walked from the hotel just another 5 minute walk and ended up in the middle of a frozen lake covered in snow where people were skiing and walking around and the views were incredible.
Its a once in a lifetime Christmas trip and I would definitely recommend it for couples. However some family's seemed fed up as there's only so much snow a kid can take I suppose.

We booked a cottage from Lapland Hotels and believed that the accomodation would have some standard. The Kelomökki (with a double bed and single bed) was a big dissapointment. The beds were very old, the curtains and the decoration pillows and the chairs had not been changed since the 1990's. The shower was a small cabin. Didn't even dare to take a look at the sauna. Also the lightning was poor and consisted mostly of cold, lifeless halogen lamps.
The pictures Lapland hotels has taken of their accomodation options in Äkäslompolo are not to be trusted! The Lapland Hotels company seems to sell these rooms to foreigners who cannot see the reality of the standard of accomodation before they arrive. Very dissapointed because I had read some good reviews on the chains other hotels and believed that they had some standard.
I wrote this review in english because I feel sorry for tourists who come far away to have a holiday in this place.

Check in at the hotel was swift and the gentleman on reception was very friendly.
He gave us directions to our room which were fairly vague and the room numbers are not clearly signposted so we had a bit of a time trying to find where we were staying. Brrrr!

I should also state, that being plus size (uk 20/22) and my husband being a bigger build also, we were worried about them having a snowsuit to fit us, but I can assure you not to worry they have a massive range of sizes and do cater for small to larger people. We were provided with a snowsuit, wool socks and boots. These need to be given back the night before you leave.

Our apartment was basic but spacious. It was on 2 levels, twin room, bathroom, kitchen/living room on the lower floor then a twin room and toilet on the upper floor. We were full board but there are sufficient items provided should you want to go self catering. Hair dryer and towels are provided. The beds were surprisingly comfy.

Initially the apartment seemed clean, but after a while we noticed the bathroom floor had not been swept or mopped, especially behind the toilet. A few dead spiders dotted around but that can be forgiven. Chocolate wrappers in the downstairs bedside table and the dishwasher wasn't emptied from the prrvious guests. No heating was on when we arrived so had to report to Reception and the lady sorted it out straight away. Apparently the fuses in the box had tripped out and the temperature wasn't set. But grateful it was dealt with quickly, the apartment was nice and toasty after that especially upstairs.

The food was a buffet style selection, it was ok. Nothing to rave about but sufficient and had food suitable for everyone. Such as chips, nuggets, spag bol, lasagne, meat, fish, potatoes, salad etc. Free water.

While the swimming pool at the hotel was ok, I personally feel that the photo advertising it was heavily photoshopped. It was smaller than I had expected and by the time you had 4 or 5 families in there it was full and so we left after about 40 mins. Plus the water was absolutely freezing. There is also no life guard on duty for the pool. The pool is open every day but only from 3pm.

Reception ordered us a taxi for a day trip that we had booked independently (not through tui) to a reindeer safari - (villa Vaamila) i would definitely suggest going here, very enjoyable and heidi was super good with the kids and extremely knowledgeable about all her reindeer.

I feel that the hotel staff were friendly and happy. We didn't really have much to do with the tui reps, our welcome talk on our coach wasn't the best and we felt we were not given all the info we would have liked. However the elf (fizzy) on the way back to the airport was very happy and friendly and took the time to speak to each individual guest about their stay.

I have attached photos of the upstairs twin room (we pushed the beds together) very basic, could have done with a bedside table lol. But was nice enough. Also attached a photo of a view looking towards the restaurant area.

The hotel is in a good position, ten minutes walk to the local village but take a kick sled for a fun trip down. At -25C make sure you take ski gloves and a knock face cover, my eyes started to freeze by the time I got to the shops.
The walk to the frozen lake is about 10 mins also and worth the trip.
The northern lights were brilliant and apparently the best they’ve had for a while.
The food was excellent, don’t believe the other reviews. There is plenty for all and the breakfast has a lot of choice the salt cured salmon was my favourite but if you like cereal, toast or cooked breakfast you’ll be happy.
The rooms were clean and the sauna was great, the rooms were always warm.
We went with TUI and I have to say the reps were useless. When we go back I will book everything individually as it’s easy to get around on the ski buses and you can book excursions easily.
I would suggest the reindeer excursion if you’re going to book one, it was a great experience on Christmas Eve through the forest it was
Magical.
The Christmas Day party was ok, this was heard at Y1 ski resort, the food was fine and the bar easy to get to (you pay for the drinks but they were slightly cheaper than the hotel). The party starts at 7.30ish and with little children it’s too late, we shared a taxi back with a couple who had a baby, €20 on Christmas Day I didn’t think was too bad.
This was our first trip to Finland and Lapland, we will be back. The hotel is nice and well placed, however I think we will try the Saaga hotel next, a short stop there and conversations around what it’s like convinced us that would be our next hotel.

We stayed 4 nights in the 2-bedroom Alp Apartments with our family of 5 in July. These flats are pretty basic but If that is all you need then they work fine! Also great with little kids as there are no stairs. Would recommend asking for a downstairs flat during the summer if it’s warm (the upstairs flats get really hot). Also would recommend the houses further down the road (like E house) and asking for a flat towards the forest (as then you get a nice view to the forest instead of the parking lot). For a visit during the summer it’s good to know there is a nice beach with beautiful scenery around 5-minute walk away from the flat.

We had a two room (+ a sauna) flat in a somewhat newer, separate building. That was good as there was no noise from people partying in the restaurant (dance with live music). Our flat was tidy and functional, but nothing fancy.

We liked also the location: not far from the town centre (which is not very bustling though) and - more importantly - next to the cross country skiing tracks of the area.

There were goog parking spaces (with electricity avaivable) next to our hotel building.

The breakfast was good - better than the common Lapland level.

I stayed in this hotel for one week. On the arrival I upgraded from economy too
to one bedroom apartment for a reasonable money, much less then an upgrade online would cost. The apartment is good size and well designed but I have never had so many technical issues in one hotel as in this one week. The ceiling light was broken, two sockets in the kitchen didn’t work, the reception for few available digital channels was poor and most of the time didn’t work, soap dispenser didn’t work, the shower needed fix before using it. It was just annoying and an indication of poor hotel management. The furniture was very worn out and old.
On the other hand, the staff was helpful, and the food was very good, breakfast as well as dinner. Therefore 3 stars but if anyone ever builds a new hotel in the area, I would not come here back.

The first thing to mention is how efficient the whole service from Inghams has been. From booking to pre holiday questions and especially the reps in the resort have been amazing. We couldn't have been more cared for.
Food is basic and not great (we are accustomed to 5 star) but we didn't have many expectations of this before we went so we weren't disappointed.
We were half board in a log cabin for 7 nights over New Years. Our cabin was perfectly located over the lake with everything you needed and immaculately cleaned.
Everywhere is clean, well looked after and the locals are friendly.
4G is suprinsgly full strength everywhere and although services and facilities are exceptional yllas still retains a quiet, relaxed and traditional Finnish feel.
Our holiday ended perfectly with the northern lights making an appearance on our last night.
The airport is a nightmare but overall the holiday was perfect and magical.

Hi, all the rooms are nice, we were in the main hotel which was really nice and very warm. We booked our trips through TUI, they were very expensive but we had a great time. You can walk into the village and book with operators there. The Santa village has taster rides which are very good and the Santa sleigh ride visit is magical through the forest. The Lapland trip is worth booking, expensive but memories that will stay with you.
