Nice getaway place with comfortable bed and good amenities. Spa was not that special but great opportunity to have sauna after the day in the slopes. Dinner buffet ans breakfast super good. Great value for the money. Hotel is located very conveniently next to the gondola lift. Easy access to and from the slopes. Friendly and helpful service

Very overpriced. I would describe this hotel as a decent 3-star hotel, but ut’s marketed as a luxury destination. The restaurants are average and spa very small. Rooms look old. The staff is ok but a bit unprofessional. The pools are vey cold.

We stayed in the Nordic chalets, they were a 5 min walk from the hotel and 5 min walk to the slopes/gondola. Chalet apartments were really nice, well équipe if your staying self catering. Drying cupboard for you wet clothes and a lovely sauna too. Our balcony looked out on to the slopes and hotel and we even saw the northern lights from there too. All in all we had a great stay here, we were half board and the breakfast and dinner was perfect for us, really good food choice for the evening meal, always a meat and fish , salad, soup and lovely little puddings. Fresh bread too and you could could have juice and tea /coffee with your evening meal too. Breakfast was always good too with plenty of choice. We had a few issues when we arrived, mainly due to Crystal ski making an admin error, staff were very good and always available to help. We also went on the visit to the snow village and went out hunting the northern lights by snowmobile which was all arranged for us by our rep Kevin. Lapland safaris we’re amazing too when we went on our trips with them. Skiing was great, lots of lovely wide runs from the top and Lots of choice of runs, it was a shame that a lot of runs weren’t open yet and look to be opening just in time for the February half term which was disappointing. Also the gondola sometimes won’t be open due to high winds. Would definitely return to Yllas and would highly recommend Saaga hotel and chalet apartments.

Staying for a week through Ingram’s. Must say I didn’t expect too much but have been really surprised. The hotel is a delight. We have a room on the 3rd floor with a view onto the piste and it’s excellent. Can’t fault the room. Everything works and is functional , clean and quiet. They even have a heated drying cabinet in the bathroom. No tea facilities but we brought our own!. As for dining, both breakfast and evening meals are very good. Not fine dining but good wholesome tasty skiing fare preparing you for the great outdoors. Fab that you also get soft drinks and tea and coffee with meals. Haven’t used the bar because Finland is so expensive but if your tight like me just bring your own alcoholic beverages from the Uk. The ambience of the dinning room is also spot on.(handy tip is the French all seem to eat at 8pm, so if you go at around 7 it’s a lot quieter :) They have a nice big pool with lots of water jets to relax aching muscles and if you like displaying your manhood to others, there’s always the sauna. Skiing is the biggest surprise because the snow is so great although the weather is inclined to reduce viability to next to zero on the slopes. But really, it seems so unique compared to other European resorts it’s a whole new experience. The hotel is more or less ski in - ski out and they have fantastic ski storage facilities. They even have 2 ski waxing tables with irons. Only been on one excursion to have a husky sledge ride (cost over£400 but memories will last forever) and you can walk down to the frozen lake from the hotel but it’s a bit of a hike. Wouldn’t recommend self catering. They haven’t even got a cash machine in the resort area. Plus the foods so nice in the hotel. Would recommend this hotel and I can see why most of the people we spoke to are serial returners.

Just returned from our TUI 5 day break and was great, though it's a very small resort byt has plenty to keep you occupied, sledges are free and left outside the hotel fie all couple of restaurants and a pub about 500 metres from the hotel, goddala is in the same area takes you up to the very expensive and busy cafe the trip to ice village was very good but not enough time their the reindeer ride is a waste of £140 each though a lot of people think its a must a good tip don't over pack the suits supplied with boots and socks are excellent

This is a beautiful hotel with stunning restaurants and helpful staff. Small mini market to the side of the ski shop. Easy access to sledging, gondolas, other restaurants and bars. Open fires and lashings of snow. We stayed for 3 nights. Staying within the hotel gives you access to the pool and spa and prebookable gym. The issues I had were we requested a family room, this turned out to be two single beds and a small pull out sofa. The head pieces forming the bed (under pillows) kept falling through, we had to stuff our snow suits under them to stop them falling through several times a night. The single beds were lovely but the pull out bed was rock hard so we ended up having to take the mattress topper from the single bed and make do. The other issue was the pool/spa facilities. Not sure if this is a Finland thing but they were freezing. I’m pretty ok with cool water but it was COLD. Leaves you dithering. Such a shame as the pool is beautiful. My final issue was more to do with the Tui finale feast which was at a different hotel but pick up was 6:50pm and return was 22:10 which is far far far to late for the young children it’s designed for, Especially when some of them had a 6am pick up for their flight the next day. The food was ‘ok’ kind of 6/10 - very very very limited vegetarian options but as I say this wasn’t at Saaga this was part of the Tui finale trip. The tui reps and staff were amazing. Full of enthusiasm. Helpful. My son cried when he realised we wouldn’t see them again. Breakfast was lush in the buffet room at Saaga. The ice hotel holiday village was great. The whole experience. We stuck with the tasters and was happy with that. No need for us personally to pay for extra activities. The other two things to consider - I was lead to believe Yllas was a dark area and great to see the Northern Lights but the ski slope was lit up 24/7 like a Belisha beacon and from the hotel is also in the north direction so it does ruin your chances with light pollution. Finally - driving on the roads - they could teach the British some winter driving lessons for sure. Doing 60mph in a bus without special equipment on the tyres on thick snowy roads certainly isn’t for the faint hearted. Overall very happy.

Hello, Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that your stay with us was mostly a success. However we are sorry that we have not informed about the bed types well enough. Regarding the head pieces those are not supposed to fall out like that but maintenance has taken care of it. We are truly sorry about that. As for the pool water; it is heated up to a Finnish standard. It could also feel colder than usual because the air in the pool area is quite warm but we apologize for not informing you of the pool temperatures better. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our breakfast and the Snow Village! Ylläs indeed is a great area to see the Northern lights so we are sorry to hear that you were led to believe otherwise. We are sorry to hear that you didn't find a dark spot close by to watch the northern lights. Kind regards, Lapland Hotels Saaga

We are on our way home from a 3 night tui Lapland break. Overall we had a fantastic time. Finland is beautiful. There was a major delay of 7 hours getting into our room on arrival. However the tui representative ensured Tui compensated us for this We arrived at 1330 and got in our room 2030. Tui snow suits and boots are great they do the job of keeping us warm. Hotel food is nice, basic but good. Spa facilities along with swimming are not included if you are staying in a chalet, you have to pay. The hotel surroundings are beautiful. The ski slopes and the snow are picturesque. Kids using tobogons daily to play in the snow is lovely. Lots of tobogons are left outside the hotel. The Tui Christmas experience is magical and the reindeer excursion was great. The trip by Tui is well organized with Tui reps always there to help. This holiday has definitely been one of the best experiences of our life. My children are 7 and 8. I would recommend this hotel to any family

Hotel is fantastic. No issues reason for the poor score is don't book with tui. Festive finial meal not worth it. Impersonal poor food and crammed in to a room tables squashed together. Long queues food cold. Horrible could not eat worse then school dinners. Not the best not a great finial to a fantastic holiday. Tui reps didn't care less. Would not go with tui again.
