Valérie & I are fussy Swiss people and we ownia four star guest house. We were drained & down and in desperate need of calm, comfort and being pampered. Well, we couldn't have expected anything better! It starts with a magnificent place, spotless and well managed. It goes on with dedicated and stylish staff. Discreet, polite and efficient. We had...

Lovely 1 night stay at The Tulbagh in the gorgeous Obiqua Suite. Buildings are all Cape Dutch architecture and rooms are tastefully luxurious. Room was right on Church street, so very conveniently located. Service was friendly and good. Also had dinner at the Olive Terrance which was very nice, one or 2 areas for some improvement food wise, but on...

Every aspect of our stay at the Tulbach Hotel was way beyond our expectations. From the moment we were greeted at reception to the moment we left we found every member of staff both friendly and helpful - the receptionist even drew a map of the best way to get to our next destination, the Bosjes Chapel, which I was...

Dear Tony many thanks for your generous review. Our staff are our greatest asset and we frequently have educational outings so our staff can experience for themselves the attractions in the area, and then make suggestions and give advice based on their own experiences. Hope you enjoyed visiting Bosjes. A great restaurant and wedding venue. Best wishes Alasdair

This hotel left us with a smile in the heart. Upon arrival, we were greeted politely and welcomed. The hotel staff kindly informed us of all the amenities and showed us to our room. Our room was lovely with all the bells and whistles (e.g. hairdryer, aircon, TV, very neat and modern bathroom with soap, shampoo etc.) expected for such...

Dear Wessels many thanks for your generous review. Tulbagh is very popular as a wedding venue and many of the local vineyards have chapels and hold weddings. Our Honeymoon Suite is the ideal place to spend your first night of wedlock. Hope you will have the opportunity to return to Tulbagh on a another occasion best wishes Alasdair

Went here for dinner with the four of us during a weekend away. Service was good, unfortunately due to a function on the terrace we had to sit inside, but the restaurant is nice, with old pictures on the wall. Dinner was decent - the veg choice a bit bland though, good wine (as to be expected in this region)....

Dear ArdHeinkens many thanks for your review. We are very fortunate to have two al fresco dining areas, the stoep under the White Kareetree and a tranquil courtyard. The indoor restaurant area is fully air conditioned and has 2 fireplaces for winter. We are opening a new tapas wine bar next month that will offer an extensive range of local...

A really lovely stay - so quiet & peaceful with fantastic weather. The only downside was the poor cuisine - extremely unappetising & definitely did not measure up to the descriptions in the menu. For example: the Thai veg curry bore no resemblance to the wonderful way Thai vegetables are prepared..The end result was very 'mushy'. As was my friend's...

The Tulbagh is centrally-located and conveniently placed to explore the town with its historic Church Street and many other attractions and amenities. The main hotel building dates from 1859 & offers a range of contemporary-styled luxurious rooms. The Winterhoek Manor(1813) and the Toll House(1809), opposite the hotel, are two of the heritage properties in Church Street, offering charming period rooms. Crafted from the old wagon shed, this suite oozes romantic charm. Open thatch, two fireplaces, bath and shower for two. There are three pool areas, free Wi-Fi throughout and an in-house beauty therapist. All areas have air conditioning and there are cosy wood-burning fires for winter evenings.
