Clean comfortable rooms, great guest service and awesome relaxing pool area. Breakfast service could be improved slightly as the waiting time is a bit long, but the food was really good and so was the fresh juice. Would definitely recommend this property :)

The Hyde many thanks for your kind review, and pleased to hear our valued staff gave great customer service as they are renowned for. We are currently taking a look at ways of improving speed of service from the kitchen. All our dishes are prepared to order and this does take sometime. Hope to welcome you back soon Alasdair

Slightly noisy on terrace outside - passings traffic and music from nearby theatre but otherwise good. Food was very good overall- better than most alternatives in town. Check the bill for extra add- on's.

The warm welcome was a good start. We were shown to our rooms in Winterhoek Manor across the road. The rooms are beautifully decorated in a style of yesteryear and were spotlessly clean. The bed is extremely comfortable and thank goodness for the bigger bath towels! We had dinner at the Olive Terrace Bistro at the hotel and as it...

We had a wonderful stay here in January. We had stayed here a year ago and the experience was not as good- it seems as if the hotel is under new management! This time we had a wonderful time with exceptional service! Beautiful room and bathroom! Very clean! Lovely breakfast included! Great stay!

Our stay here was very good & comfortable. The welcome at reception was very friendly & efficient. We were shown our room & all the facilities. The position on the main street is very convenient, but I would suggest a room at the back, where it is quiet. Dinner was adequate with a limited wine list & staff were very...

Dear Vlindam many thanks for your review and we were pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay. I was slightly surprised to read you thought we had a limited wine list. It is intentionally limited to wines from the local area, but they range for award winning wines from Saronsberg and Rijks, to more affordable ones from the Tulbagh Winery....

This "barn" house was so sweet and romantic for our stay. It has everything you need/require for your stay. Will def return for another longer stay. Just a relaxing and quite time in the house. And the best is that it's self catering!

Dear Rozannev many thanks for your kind review of Bain's Barn. It is not part of the Tulbagh Boutique Heritage Hotel, but we do manage it for a friend. Bain's Barn does infact have its own listing on Tripadvisor. But we are very pleased to hear you enjoyed a relaxing weekend in Tulbagh. Best wishes Alasdair

Fabulous! We really enjoyed our stay. Great room, great food , good service and friendly people. The heritage rooms were so convenient with our westies who could pop out into the garden when necessary! We even had a kitty visiting us - much to the consternation of our doggies! Definitely will visit again. You made us all feel so welcome.

The Tulbagh is centrally-located and conveniently placed to explore the town with its historic Church Street and many other attractions and amenities. The main hotel building dates from 1859 & offers a range of contemporary-styled luxurious rooms. The Winterhoek Manor(1813) and the Toll House(1809), opposite the hotel, are two of the heritage properties in Church Street, offering charming period rooms. Individual décor and fine cotton linen adorning four poster beds. Chandeliers on yellowwood beamed ceilings. Our Honeymoon Suite is the jewel in our crown. Crafted from the old wagon shed, this suite oozes romantic charm. Open thatch, two fireplaces, bath and shower for two. There are three pool areas, free Wi-Fi throughout and an in-house beauty therapist. All areas have air conditioning and there are cosy wood-burning fires for winter evenings.
