I had a nice stay at this camp (I stayed at the lodge and not in the ger). My lodge was in a quiet are and so I had a good sleep. The bed was in the upper level of the structure and the living are and the bathroom downstairs. The food provided for breakfast and dinner was very similar to the food received almost everywhere in Mongolia. They don't have several dishes.
Our stay at 5his ger camp close to the sand dunes was very nice. We stayed in one of the lodge rooms and not in a ger. The room was very clean and well appointed with a spacious bathroom with shower and electric outlet for charging devices. We had a great view of the dunes from our room. As with most calls we stayed in, meals were served buffet style in the main lodge and were very good. There was nit a particular gift shop, but they did have some souvenirs available at the main lodge, which were very nice. Overall, this camp was clean and well maintained. The staff really cared about keeping everyone happy. I would recommend for anyone.
Due to the location near the dunes, Gobi Erdene seems to get a lot of business. Still, it was quite clean and efficient. The staff were a bit stressed at the meal-time rush, but relaxed and friendly otherwise. Food was good and they had cold beer (ahhh!!!) for 5,000 tugriks. Electricity, but no internet.
Its a big camp, probably less than 10 min ride to the sand dunes which you can see from the camp. Camp has both gers and cabins. The gers come without a toilet, but theres a communal bathroom with a good number of toilets, sinks, and showers. Theres are hairdryers in the bathroom. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating. Breakfast was good but didnt like the other meals there. Also other nice outdoor apot to sit and just mingle with other guests in the rooftop of restaurant. Gers are pretty basic. They offer towels, shower gel and shampoo inside.
There are various types of accommodation in the camp, including more traditional gers and log cabins. We stayed in the latter, which have private bathrooms. We were met by a helpful team of people who efficiently moved luggage to our cabins. The room was basic but fairly clean and comfortable, although another plug socket (lower to the ground) would have been useful. Power is on from 7 am until 11 pm. The bathroom was fine and came with shampoo, conditional and soap. My main criticism would be the use of small plastic bottles of products such as shampoo. A more ecologically friendly approach would be to use large pump-action type dispensers. The food in the central dining area was OK but meal times were fixed and without much flexibility. There was, however, plenty of beer to buy.…
