A groovy funky Motel! Summer or Winter, we are at the heart of your next outdoor adventure. Our rooms are very well appointed and extremely well maintained. Your comfort is our first concern. Come and enjoy the best of the 'Great North Woods' from your room with us. We know all the spots to see, even the ones that know one else will tell you about...... Yup...... even there!
When we arrived we found all the murals and charm gone. And we arrived on a very cold freezing day, to a freezing cold room with no heat. You would think that if they have a reservation made, they would turn on the heat and warm it up. Had to sleep with two pairs of socks and my winter coat. This used to be such a nice little motel, but no longer. We won't be staying again and will not recommend to anyone. For a couple checking in, they only supplied one bath towel, one hand towel and one washcloth.

Not good. The bathroom door would not fully open or close. The shower was not functional. This was a stopover before heading into into Algonquin backcountry the next morning. Next time we will stay 60 further away in Huntsville.

The night prior to heading into Algonquin Park a group of us stayed here. Perfect for re-packing and watching the world go by with a beer in hand. The staff are friendly, suggesting Sherries for breakfast which is the best. We will be back!

Excellent hosts, very clean maintained motel. Very affordable and the breakfast at sherris diner was beyond expectations. A bit far from the Algonquin park, many nearby local places to trek around and enjoy

We were made welcome right from checking in. Stayed in room 9 . Everything was clean and more than adequate. Wifi was good and flatscreen tv too. Gone were the hippy painting, thank goodness! Would definitely use again.

Last few times we've stayed, we've stayed in room 6, which is at one end of the spread. And you can see my happy happy reviews from those stays. This time we were in room 12, which is a the far opposite end. And it was fine--looks like it's been recently renovated--new flat screen TV, bathroom and bedding modernized, fresh paint? And clean, and comfortable, and well-equipped, just like room 6. Now, I don't know if the change we noted particularly is specific to this end of the motel's rooms, or just room 12, or throughout. But this room had none of the funky, funny, human children's paintings on the walls--which gives?gave? room 6 such character, and made it fun and friendly on top of all the other good stuff. And not everyone, from other reviews, was as charmed by the kids' paintings as we've always been. But we missed them. A lot. Shoot.…

We were looking for inexpensive accommodations for a snowmobile trip to South River. The Algonquin exceeded our expectations. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. The motel is small and the rooms are basic, but clean. The wifi works great and we watched the hockey game on the TV. There’s lots of room to maneuver and park snowmobile trailers on the property. We purchased the breakfast option at Sherri’s Diner - good food, large portions. For our purposes the Algonquin was perfect.
