First visit and impressed with quick service and large portions. Nice traditional cosy pub, worth noting it closes at 3pm and reopens at 6pm as we arrived at 5.45 and it was closed. Mains priced from £9 upwards, lots of choice. Free refills on filter coffee.

Went for Saturday lunch. Lovely pub and quieter restaurant if that's what you want. Fantastic choice of food to suit different tastes and good prices. I had spinach and watercress soup then belly pork, parmentierre potatoes with veg and cider and shallot sauce. Other half had chunky beef pie with pastry lid and fab chips. Alll really hot and tasty....

My wife & I met friends at the Dun Cow for lunch. What a great choice. We met around 12.30, had a drink before ordering. Various menus to choose from, specials, daily special or the main menu, couldn't fault what the Dun Cow were offering. Four different dishes, & may I add the food was outstanding, piping hot, tasty &...

Went there for lunch recently, used to go quite often but haven't been for a few years. Pub was quite busy although can't see what the attraction is, quite scruffy. Ordered fish and chips which were quite expensive, food was delivered promptly, huge fish portion, that was ok but didn't like frozen chips or the massive portion of tinned mushy...

Stayed at this hotel following a recommendation from a business colleague and not disappointed. Room was snug but very comfortable and well appointed. The best bit of the visit was the food with an incredible selection of meals on offer and the quality was second to none Staff were very helpful 9/10 overall

Absolutely loved it here, we travel all over the UK but we definitely love the North East. The people are so friendly and the staff at the Dun Cow are the epitome of what hospitality is all about! Cannot praise them enough, especially (but not exclusively, Richard ), they made our stay special....Thank you.

I stay here quite regularly on business It is the real hot spot of Sedgefield with the bar and restaurant comfortably (but not over) full whenever I have stayed The 6 rooms are quirky yet comfortable and always clean The bar meals are satisfying and well cooked and presented. The restaurant meals are slightly more expensive but equally delicious and...

Went here with my fiance and Grandparents for Sunday lunch. Got to say the food was great, good sized portions and very fresh and tasty. I know this pub is meant to be vintage inside, but it could do with being a little brighter/lighter and perhaps slightly more modern. I did also find the restraunt area a little cramped -...

Recently ate in the Dun Cow and it has not changed in 20 years. It is badly in need of sprucing up both in terms of the menu and décor. It is all very well being an old world pub but it needs more than that. The food was OK but expensive for what is pub food and the drink...
