This was our third trip to Bananarama and the diving is always divine. The dive shop staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and safety conscious. The reef is incredible and the dive groups are small. Even during their busy Spring Break, we were able to dive every day and have a personal experience. The sea life variety is marvelous and the...

Bananarama is a great little spot that fits well in between a hotel and a cute little house feel. The porch for each house was unforgettable, however, their was too much construction going on all the time. The activity center was a flop! If you want to do things around the island don't go through them. We got on a...

We were at Bananarama for the day. We had sailed in on the NCL Star. We had been to West bay 2 other times but both times it had been cloudy and rainy. This time the sun was shining bright. We arrived at 9:30 or so. We were taken to our lounge chairs on the beach. We had prearranged transportation...

Do you want to bring back a fat Honduran cockroach in luggage? Do you want to listen to a whine of electrical saw ALL day long? Then stay here. We decided to stay here after reading the Tripadvisor reviews. Boy were we disappointed. This was our last destination in Honduras and we stayed in plenty of "rustic" places. But this...

The hotel has a rustic appeal and would be an excellent choice if it weren't for the very loud, non-stop beach party atmosphere. If you're looking for some measure of tranquility, stay almost anywhere else on West Bay Beach. (There are no "bad" parts of West Bay Beach - the entire strip is comprised of powdery, soft sand and turquoise...

Lindsay, Super happy you enjoyed your stay with us. I would recommend guests who are noise sensitive from 6pm to 10pm to avoid rooms 22 and 23. They are close to the music which is a lot of fun for most of our guests. We have nightly activities which include movie night on Mondays, Quiz night on Tuesday, Karokee on...

I just got back from a too short of stay at the Bananarama Beach and Dive Resort in West Bay, Honduras. It was the perfect ending to what had been a grueling week on a medical mission in Limon, Honduras. The grounds were beautiful, the room was fantastic, the food was excellent, and the service was superb. The proximity to...

Great location but for the money there are many better places to stay. Note that this review is of the resort only. I left a different review for the dive center which was GREAT. We had an all-inclusive package including diving and meals for one week. Our room was simple but needed some better cleaning. My friend and I both...

First let me say that we love to accommodate guests and improve our service. It is important that if a guest has a problem they contact a manager or let a member of the staff know they have an issue that they would like solved. We can not solve problems we dont know about. Rooms are sprayed weekly or at...

My son and I stayed at Bananarama in September 2012 to celebrate my 50th birthday. I made our reservation quite a bit in advance and made payments until our departure which really helped make it affordable. We booked the package that included the 10 dives. Everyone I worked with up until our arrival was very friendly, accomodating and made me...

We booked our beach chair/snorkel/kayak w/banarama. Beach is nice, although, if you're there at peak cruise ship time, it's like a sea of chairs and traffic in the water. The sand is like powder and the sea is clear. I snorkeled late in the afternoon (around 2:30-3) down at the end of the beach with the big black rock. Wonderful!...

My husband and I stayed at Bananarama for one night in January 2013. We had spent the days prior in La Ceiba on the mainland and wanted a simple place to stay before we caught our flight back to the States. The hotel property is pretty and well-maintained. Each room has a patio and hammock, which is great for relaxing...

I am really happy you enjoyed our location, cabanas and staff. I can understand your frustrations here as it sounds like you arrived on Sunday and left on Monday. Sunday is the busiest day of the week with locals and tourists alike flocking to the beach. The citizens here in Honduras work 6, 8 hour shifts and customarily recieve Sunday's...
