We stayed at the Ahornhof, on a coach trip with Crusader Holidays and had a wonderful week, or driver was exellant, there are so many thing to do and see in Bavaria.
All the rooms were always warm and welcoming, beds comfortable. The food was Bavarian, and enjoyable! So was the beer! It's a long journey but well worth it; we felt safe all the way, even in the snow.
Oh, one down side the fire alarm went of once, people smoking in their rooms, the English went down to reception, but no one else took any notice!
If you're not on a coach, you'll need a car

Ahornhof is situated in lower Bavaria, on the mountain valley, a ~3 hour drive from Munich airport. Its away from any amenities - no shops, no restaurants near by and no transportation to find! But, loved the scenic view of the snowy mountains from the room. And the beauty of the place is that, once you are out of the hotel and some steps, you are in the forest! As I was there in Jan end, the temperature outside was -15 to -20 degrees. But, the heating in the room and bathroom was very good and a very comfortable temperature was maintained through out the hotel. The room size was average; but cleanliness was excellent. The bed was on the softer side and the quilt was super. The restaurant served average breakfast with egg, meat and mussels. The WiFi was not so good in the room; but was nice outside the room. One negative is that, they don't have a lift. So, your heavy luggage has to be managed by yourselves!

We wanted to redeem a voucher from MyDays. We followed all the steps and had them confirmed. Both by MyDays and by the hotel. We also ordered the early bird option separately, as we like to be at the hotel early in the morning from 9 a.m. That was an extra cost that was unnecessary. Firstly, we were greeted very negatively. Then they apparently hadn't received any information about the reservation from us or from MyDays. But I was able to prove the opposite based on various emails. We were very reluctantly admitted. The room was a horror. A dark hole without the promised view, with old furniture that not even my grandma uses anymore!! The bathroom was no better.
There was no possibility of eating lunch there or getting coffee and cake. So we had to enjoy our slim figure until dinner, as no other restaurant nearby was open.
The wellness area was a disgrace. Cloudy, cold water that also smelled bad. Other guests were also horrified by that.
Last point: dinner. Contrary to the description of the reservation, we were not able to eat from the menu. There was a cheap, soggy "evening menu" to pick up yourself, which cost an extra €29 per person!!!!!!

The only nice thing was the waitress. We told her about our problems and because she felt so sorry for us, we finally got the glass of champagne that we should have received as a welcome drink.

We were so horrified that we fled the next morning.

We will definitely never be seen there again.

It was really cool here. A very idyllic place.
The pool with the loungers next to it is particularly inviting for relaxation. The rooms are also absolutely plausible, but the balcony gives a relaxed impression.

A nice hotel close to national parks in the Bayrischer Wald. We stayed here for three nights and did excursions to small towns and hikes. Can really recommend the hotel. Booked half board on their website (recommended) lots and lots of good food, nice breakfast, nice spa area with both outdoor and indoor pool. A textile-free sauna was perhaps a little unusual for us Swedes, but it was fine to have a towel.

Dog friendly and very nice and helpful staff.

The Hotel Ahornhof was really great! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room (superior double room) was recently renovated and offered plenty of space. Overall, everything was very neat and clean. There was an indoor and outdoor pool as well as a sauna area that offered everything. The lobby and restaurant are modern and very bright. The really great breakfast buffet deserves a special mention; there is something for everyone. We really liked it and felt comfortable.

The staff was very friendly and the room was in a quiet location, very nice and clean. You could also relax on the balcony.
The breakfast was excellent and varied. The indoor and outdoor pools were also very well maintained. Unfortunately we were unable to use them for health reasons. The bar is also highly recommended.

The Hotel Ahornhof is an older hotel, but it is well maintained and has a wide range of options to make your stay in the hotel varied.
The pool and sauna area is spacious and has both an attractively large indoor pool and a sufficiently large outdoor pool. There are 3 saunas to choose from for sauna visits, a dry sauna, a Finnish sauna and a steam sauna. There are enough loungers in both the pool and sauna area. The entire pool and sauna area is well maintained and attractive.
In addition to the pool and sauna facilities, the hotel also has a solarium and a spa area for beauty treatments.
There is a large playroom for younger guests and a spacious billiards room for older visitors.
The evening meal in the restaurant is very tasty, the service very attentive and friendly. While the starters and desserts are offered as a buffet, the main course is served. There was a choice of a meat dish, a fish dish and a vegetarian meal. The "serving course" makes the atmosphere at dinner relaxed and quiet.
The hotel bar opens daily at 8 p.m. It offers plenty of space, both at the bar counter and in comfortable seating areas. You can end the day here in a pleasant atmosphere.
The hotel's location on the edge of town and on the edge of the forest is an absolute highlight for a "city dweller accustomed to noise and light" to get a good night's sleep, especially when it comes to getting a good night's sleep.
