Great place to stay. Rooms are very rustic and comfortable. Superb service from the owners Annette and Shane and their staff. One is made most welcome and the pub is out of this world and the meals Wow

We had a two bedroom cottage called Karp. One of the bedrooms had the most fantastic found stone shower stall. The beds were great, and the all the self-catering gear was there, and we were able to prepare several meals successfully. The restaurant was also reasonable but not stunning. The bar hewn from a solid slab of timber was a...

Ok, so this was very unexpected. We decided to stop over for 1 night after traveling from the Cape and this was something we picked up on the Net. Well done to my mate Mark who found this as it was something really awesome. We stayed in the 4 bedroom self catering sleeper but had dinner in the main house...

We were completely disappointed in our stay overnight in the "campsite" at Stoneybrook Ranch. After reading about the extensive facilities they offered on their website, we were looking forward to a night in the country, with the option of a meal in the steakhouse. However the facilities were unkempt, neglected and completely unacceptable, given what they claimed to offer their...

Our last stop on a 20-day going-nowhere slowly holiday. We had already driven 2,700km and I needed somewhere to break the journey on the last leg home from East London. Even if Kokstad to Pietermaritzburg is tanalisingly close to push the entire journey in one day, we decided to make a mini-holiday at Stoneybrook Farm. It was a good choice...

I was bringing my injured husband back to the cape from Pietermaritzburg and we stopped for the night at Stoneybrook. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind and they even bought supper to our cottage as my husband couldn't manage the steps to the restaurant. The food was excellent for supper and the staff packed us delicious picnic bags for...

I have to say to begin, Im a little bit biased in writing this review. I am originally from Kokstad and have basically grown up at Stoneybrook. Whilst living in other cities and countries, I have yet to go back to South Africa and see my family without stopping in and visiting Stoneybrook. I always know exactly whose face I...

Before you read on, please note that this review is about their camping accommodation ONLY and NOT about their A-frame chalets or restaurant, we are unable to comment on these as we only saw them from the outside. As far as camping goes, the owners have cleared a field between a short landing strip and a small stream. They have...

We had to find a place to stop over on our way to Port St Johns and we booked at Stoneybrook. Really beautiful setting and the rustic cottage could be the perfect getaway from busy city life for couples or couples with kids. There was just a lack of effort put into the cleaning. We first thought it was just...

There was a muck up on our camping reservation, and there were some noisy youngsters on the site, so for the same price we were put into A frame huts with ensuite - that is what I call good service, and it will be rewarded as we are bound to go back! Very hot when we went, but Boma by...

“Ask for a cottage with a view.”

“The self catering cottages are large, consequently more expensive but not unreasonable.”

“Choose the rooms closest to the main restaurant - they are the best. If you can, book the log cabin, its beautiful. If you are wanting something more 'adventurous' there is a bushcamp and camping facilities too.”
