I've stayed here a few times and I'm always greeted with a smile! The rooms are really clean and warm, which is so nice for this time of year! Doesn't feel like I'm staying in a B&B at all, so relaxing and I find the rooms really comfy (I know this a personal preference). The communual kitchen is always clean...

Stayed here for two nights and it was great value for money and a much higher spec than B+B's in the area for similar money. Spotlessly clean with a well stocked communal fridge and great communal kitchen/dining/lounging area. You really feel at home.

I have stayed at Oak Lodge on several occassions now for 3/4 nights at a time. It's very relaxed, spotlessly clean and very reasonably priced. I also think it is very well located for Chelmsford and the A12. It doesn't feel like your usual B and B as your not inside someone's house - the accomodation is really well designed...

This was the 2nd time we had stayed at the Oak Lodge, which sort of says it all really - you don't go back if the experience isn't enjoyable. Great location for our purposes of combining a trip to the tennis/London (very quick and regular train service from Chelmsford into the city), with the opportunity to visit friends in Chelmsford,...

Definitely B&B meets spanish hacienda, meets essex. It was very clean, and the self service continental breakfast was very handy, but our bed was really uncomfortable (subjective I know) and we had one small window, as the door wouldn't open on one of the hottest nights of the year. I ended up sleeping on the floor as sharing a tiny...

A unique style and setting to this accomodation. A traditional B&B this is not ! Far better ! Spotlessly clean and well laid out. The quiet location guarantees a good nights sleep and the well stocked breakfast room / conservatory adds the finishing touch. I initially tried a number of B&Bs in the Chelmsford area before settling on Oak Lodge,...
