Infested with ants, dodgy lights, pubes on the sheets - yuck! Didn't realise how bad it was until it was late and we couldn't face packing up to find somewhere else in the dark but I wish we had. Stay elsewhere! We paid 1500 for a double room with a fan.

Restaurant was far away from the guesthouse so the pictures showing it on the beach are not real. Place was rundown, stood in reception for 10 mins before anyone took any notice of us then put on the phone to the manager. They didn't even know we had a booking. These are minor problems compared to the room. The room... More

This is not at all recommended. Booked this place 2 months in advance. When we went there, we did not have a room. All the rooms had been given. The location and restaurant are not at all good either. Not recommended!

We spent a very enjoyable 12 days at Reef Edge Guest House, Beach Road, Polhena. The guesthouse has four rooms off a pretty courtyard and open verandha/dining area. Our room was spacious, with air conditioning ceiling fan balcony and fridge (very handy for cooling those water bottles) plus bathroom with shower. It was a good standard of accomodation for a... When we arrived we were met with smiles and fresh juice which of course was welcome, we were then showed to our accommodation. The room we booked included a balcony but were initially taken to a ground floor room with no balcony. When this error was pointed out we were taken to the room we paid for with no debate.... More

We book 2 rooms in December through Agoda. When we arrived, the rooms were busy! so we were relocated in their second guest house. This second guest house is very noisy, the rooms are very hot (southern exposure), there is only 1 mosquito net for 2 beds, the mattress and the pillows are just so uncomfortable... We were not the... More

My partner and I stayed at Reef Edge for three nights as part of our trip town-hopping across Sri Lanka. Our stay was very enjoyable. The guesthouse itself was simple but comfortable with all essential facilities included. We particularly enjoyed using the private balcony which, for our room, was surrounded by greenery providing glimpses of the ocean beyond. Breakfast was... More

We booked this place in December and then found out we had another night at our guesthouse. We called the hotel to ask if we could move our reservation one night. Unfortunately this wasn't possible because the hotel was fully booked and we could only stay that night. Well, too bad but this can happend. Upon arrival at the hotel,... More
