Our family of 4 stayed in the family treehouse cabana and were very happy with how clean, large and comfortable it was. Aside from one other family, we were the only guests during our 4 day visit and Vlad, Robby, Norma took very good care of us including helping plan daytrips to Caracol, ATM Cave and San Ignacio. Our Classic Mayan Adventure tour guides & drivers, Damian & Augusto, speak perfect English and are both very knowledgeable about Mayan history, local flora and fauna, and Belize in general. We had a fantastic first time vacation to Belize and look forward to returning!

The lodge is beautiful. Slightly tucked away in the jungle giving you that feeling of seclusion. The room was extremely clean and lovely. We were offered a welcome drink upon arrival. All of the staff are amazing and attentive!! They really make you feel like family. Damian was an excellent driver and tour guide, extremely knowledgeable. Norma is an excellent cook! Breakfast and dinner were delicious and beautifully garnished. Everything was set up for us including our transfers and excursions. The property grounds is absolutely beautiful. The nature trail and bird watching tower is really cool. There is so much I could say, but you will have to go experience it for yourself! Do not hesitate to book here! You won’t regret it.

The Mariposa Lodge is an incredible respite from our daily life! This 6 cabana resort is tucked away on 40 acres of beautiful Belizean jungle. The physical property is amazing in its own right, the the really special element of Mariposa is the people. From the moment we were picked up at the airport by Damian, guide, transport, and now friend, we felt at home. Everything we could imagine was already taken care of, or was quickly arranged, with an easy, "We've got a guy", or "I know a place". In addition to a completely blissful life-recharge, we had a goal of experiencing as much of the San Ignacio area as we could as locals, and if we liked what we saw to rent a home to move into this Spring. Damian was our guide for most of the week. As a Maya himself, he is a brilliant guide to the Mayan heritage sites in the area--Xunantunich and Cahal Pech, and a wealth of priceless knowledge of the area. He showed us where to shop, get the car fixed, eat out, and just about anything else we would to know once we moved here. The team at the resort, lead by Gladimir, the manager, took amazing care of us all week. No matter what it took to satisfy our requests, it was done with grace, skill, and passion seen very rarely. Some tend to look at Belize as a less developed country, we look at it as a place filled with amazing, genuine, and caring people. We look at it as a place one can truly enjoy the fundamentals of life. We look at it as HOME.

Where do I begin? The property is truly a gem in the jungle. The beauty of the jungle and property is beyond compare. I stayed here with my husband and two boys (8 and 12). We stayed in one of the the treehouses (Iguana) and it was perfect for us - spacious, clean, nicely decorated, and the beds were so comfortable. The AC was powerful and reliable! The boys absolutely loved the grounds - from the bird tower, pool, and the trails. They only wished the basketball hoop was up in the trampoline. The best part of our stay was the personalized attention. From the complimentary drink upon arrival all the way to the details - such as the way Chef Norma prepared extra watermelon slices for my youngest, to the personalized menus each night. The food was delicious. It was my husband's 40th birthday and Chef Norma and Robelvi created an unforgettable night for us. Robelvi was attentive and kind and made the best margaritas! Mariposa also took care of coordinating our excursions and rides from the airport. Definitely request Damian as your guide - he is the best! My kids still talk about Mariposa, and we definitely will be returning. The staff - Norma, Robelvi, Rosa were so attentive and wonderful. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Best place by far that I've stayed - seriously, you will not regret Mariposa!

We stayed at Mariposa for two nights, and the cottage was amazing, we absolutely loved it. The grounds are neat and very clean, and the view from our balcony was to die for. We ate breakfast only and it was a bit pricey, but hey, Covid has made everything in Belize a bit expensive. Chef Norma was absolutely amazing, very talented and the food was so good. One caveat: We called ahead and were told one price for the cabin, When we checked in I looked up the same cabin on their website and it was quoted as cheaper than what we were paying, so I called right away and they fixed it. Had I not checked, I would've paid more than quoted. Other than that, the stay was amazing, laid back, and very restful. Will definitely come again.
