About

#2 of 13 Speciality lodging in Sant' Alessio Siculo
"Borgo Borghese" guest house is located in Sant 'Alessio Siculo within the beautiful Val d' Agro just 10 km from Taormina. We are in the countryside at 600 Mt. from the sea. Inside the property there are two buildings, one is the main house where the owners live and in the other one there are two independent apartments. Each flat is composed by a patio with garden table and chairs, a fully equipped kitchen with a dining table for 4 people, a bathroom with shower, a bedroom with a double bed and a smaller bedroom with a bunk bed. Each flat is suitable for 2/4 persons. Ideal location for families or couples. Renting both apartments is perfect for groups of 8 persons. The apartments are situated just outside the fisherman’s village of Sant’ Alessio Siculo where you can find supermarket, bank, pharmacy, post office restaurants, bars and train / bus station. You can easily reach the main cultural and naturalistic attractions such us the Mount Etna, The Alcatara Gorges, the medieval village of Savoca (where the “Godfather” movie was shot), the city of Catania and the city of Syracuse. The sounds, smells and colors of the Sicilian countryside come to life here and it's easy to break out of chaos and stressful everyday life. The mild climate, the quiet place and the nearby cultural attractions make “ Borgo Borghese” a pleasant accommodation where to spend your holiday. Here you can discover the pleasure of spending long evenings sipping a glass of local wine enjoying the sing of crickets and cicadas, and at the same time the refreshing sea breeze. Close to the holiday house the guests can find the owner’s garden, where fresh and seasonal products are planted and they can taste them rediscovering the authenticity. Moreover the guests could use the bikes for visiting the area following the path going to the beach from one side and to the valley from the other side. On request, we can organize interesting walking following the old Sicilian country lane. On summer period it is possible to organize boat trips.

We enjoyed our time at Salvo's country house. The apartment seems new and nicely decorated, bathroom is great and the double bed is very comfortable. It could be longer, though. Our kids (3 & 5) enjoyed all the things around the house: picked fresh eggs, tried donkey riding, petted little horse, had fun on the swings and slide. There is even a small swimming pool. Salvo has a number of bicycles (for adults and kids; even with learning wheels) and helmets and lets his guests use them for free. By bike, you only need 5 minutes to the beach on a traffic-free foot path.

Borgo Borghese deserves a 7 star rating as its the most fantastic place for a holiday. This is our second visit and we have booked again for 2019. Debora, Salvo and Irene are wonderful people who go out of their way to ensure their guests have a comfortable stay. We cannot wait to go back!!!

Debora and Salvo are the greatest hosts we ever met. We enjoyed the garden. Our children fell in love with dog Molly and got a lesson in riding a donkey. We got fresh vegetables, fruits and eggs. It‘s a perfect place, to spend the family holidays there.

We are just back from an unforgettable holiday to Debora, Salvo and Irene’s home in Borgo Borghese and already miss the place so much. My son who loves animals just refused to leave the place. There’s Nina the goat and her 2 “kids”, lots and lots of chickens, Pepino and Gina the donkey and the gorgeous dog Molly. Salvo and Debora are the most hospitable people we have ever come across. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They have great recommendations for eating out and sightseeing. The Donkey Trek organised by Salvo to Savoca is a MUST. It is the most wonderful experience and Salvo knows each and every bit of the mountain trek and the village. It was such a special experience and I would recommend it 100%. The apartments are super clean and have everything you would need for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The outside area is beautiful well equipped with swings, slides and a trampoline so if you are going with kids, there is soooo much to do. They also have an outdoor BBQ area. The location is wonderful and a short 1km bike ride to the beach and 20 min drive to all the major tourist hotspots including Taormina, Islo Bella, etc so you can enjoy the sights without being stuck in the thick of it. I would strongly recommend staying at Borgo Borghese for the best ever holiday!!! Just can’t wait to go back.

We stayed with Deborah, Salvo and Irene this November. We were here two years ago and could not wait to come back to Sicily and Deborah and Salvos home. They are such gracious hosts and we so enjoy spending time with them. Their daughter Irene is lovely and enjoys practicing her English (which is very good) and showing you around the property. All the apartments are amazing, clean and so welcoming. Do not stay anywhere else in Sicily! We love it here and I was so pleased to be able to introduce them to my extended family.
