Its an average hostel in the centre of bondi. Its nothing special about it. When I was there a lot of nice people were around, so I had a good time, but I guess if this hostel is not really filled it gonna be boring, if you spend normally a lot time in the hostel. Otherwise, they have a few...

Perfect for short and long term stays. Very nice staff and they will help with everything you need :-) great place and close to the Beach. They upgraded me after a couple og days, for the same price. It was a very nice stay. I will definitly recommend Surfside Bondi Beach backpackers.

Very casual hostel for backpackers with a nice terrace where you can eat in the sun on benches. Staff is friendly. Free rent of surfboards etc is also very cool ! A big advantage is that it's close to Bondi Beach.

Stayed at the Surfside for 3 nights. Had a blast! First off you can get surfboards, skateboards, etc for free! With the place a block away from the beach, I don't know you could get things much better for location. All the staff are very polite and willing to help out anytime. Also, great place to meet lots of people...

Hugely overpriced, very rude owner, the rooms smell like feet. The kitchen is tiny. No milk with my 'free' breakfast? With so many decent hostels in Bondi beach, i wont make the mistake of going to Surf-side again.

I stayed in Bondi beach in a camper van, and the only hostel that was nice enough to just let me use the shower was Surfside. Rich, the guy at the front desk was super nice. It was $5 for the shower. The shower facility was in good condition with plenty of hot water. Although, I can't speak for the...

We had been staying in hostels all over Auz for similar prices or cheaper and they were miles better than this. This hostel basically is dirty and unclean. The bathrooms are not clean, and the tv rooms smells so badly of just dirt and being unkept. You don't get free wifi here, and they are a bit cheeky and advertise...

Staying in Bondi Beach

Neighbourhood Profile
Bondi Beach
An iconic Australian suburb, Bondi Beach is famous for its fantastic beaches and views. Once the domain of backpackers, hundreds of tourists from all over the world descend en masse to Bondi in December ready to enjoy the "Aussie summer". Bondi Beach boasts impressive ocean views all along the many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. Wake up early and take a dip in the surf before walking the scenic stretch from Bondi to Coogee Beach. Stroll through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or grab some fish and chips and relax in the grassy area opposite the beach. For more upscale cuisine, head down to Hall Street where a range of new eateries have recently opened. Just make sure to save enough energy for the buzzing nightlife Bondi Beach has to offer.
