My husband and I stayed two nights in this peaceful hotel. Our room (number 6) had a beautiful view of the cloud forest and mountains. The first morning we were there we looked out the huge windows to find a rainbow! At night we watched a sky full of stars. The staff here is wonderful, very helpful in booking tours...

Beautiful location, staff was very friendly. Rooms are basic but very clean and spacious. Some have great views but ours looked over the parking lot. There is a large common room and a beautiful deck with a great view of the jungle. Breakfast was included and was delicious and you could see many birds in the morning as they fed...

My friend and I loved Cala Lodge! The staff was wonderful, the location was just secluded enough to get the quiet and some wildlife interactions (we saw some birds and a large rodent--not sure what it's real name was!). Our room was small but had a safe and a little desk--it was plenty for what we needed, since we had...

Cala Lodge is situated a little outside of downtown St. Elena providing a quieter environment. The rooms are spacious, the walls covered with real wood and lost of windows provide a very agreeable space. The bathroom, full bath, is very spacious as well. There is a nice private garden with a walking path, a few good restaurant options within walking...

Very nice hotel! If you want a great view, ask for room 6 - we felt like we were in a tree house. Nice and clean room, not too large, but large enough. There is a mini fridge in the room. Bathroom is clean. You have your own little balcony - great views!- which is great, but if the weather...

Always greeted by Eva with a warm hello. Lush landscaping and surroundings. Rooms basic but clean. Decent breakfast. Suite is large. Wifi good in main lobby but not in room. Not too far off from main area and only $3 taxi into town.

We just stumbled across this place during our trip through Costa Rica and checked in at the last minute. What a hidden gem!! What a fantastic place we found. Beyond expectation and excellent value for money. Breathtaking natural beauty and amazing hospitality. Lovely relaxing breakfast. Loved it.

This property is well maintained and clean. The grounds are lovely and provide short hike opportunities and bird watching opportunities. Some rooms have nice views and others not so much. Our room 8 overlooked the gravel parking lot - not very exciting. If a view is important, be sure to ask and specify what you want so you aren't disappointed....

We just loved Cala Lodge! The room was beautiful and clean with an amazing view. Breakfast was delicious, and all the hotel staff was incredibly nice and helpful. There is plenty of plant and animal life to see right on the hotel grounds, which is an added perk. We hope we'll make it back one day!

This was our first introduction to lodging in Costa Rica. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The place is like a big rustic lodge, with a great view and grounds (walking trails even). Lots of wildlife & bird sounds greeted us at the first break of dawn. We liked the location -- it was easy to access everywhere we...
