Spacious, clean room with magnificent vista through ceiling to floor glass. Good location as it is less than 5 min walk to the centre of Sta Elena. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. Breakfast (included) not great quality but edible, standard choice: rice, pancakes, eggs, sausages. coffee a bit weak for me. Overall I would recommend it if you are not... More

pros: great location good customer service beautiful views (sunsets especially) beautiful rooms, no complaints cons: car has to be parked down the hill so there's a bit of a walk if your room is located high up there

Great spot with incredible views! Walking distance to Santa Elena and good location for exploring the reserves in the area. We felt very safe walking around exploring the area. Staff had great restaurant recommendations and were very helpful. Even saw monkeys right from our balcony!

Beautiful hotel with very spacious rooms! Very hilly but you are in the mountains. Staff is very accommodating - helped us with our bags and had a shuttle drive us up the hill to our room. Offered advice on future excursions too! Even helped us with a little critter (a scary one) that snuck into our room! Breathtaking view from... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ficus. The room was comfortable, large and quiet. We had large windows to sit and enjoy the view - one day the view was a toucan eating in the trees. We also saw a coati walking across the parking lot. The staff was friendly and able to arrange several tours for us, and... More

Good restaurant, just two blocks. However walk into town,be ready for return. Need some work on the water systems. The water would shut off at any time,we would call reception and the would say wait 15-20 minutes.Good fresh watermelon juice, served in... More

We really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The hotel itself is on the hillside in Monteverde and is situated along the edge of the rainforest, which was exciting because we got to see White Faced Macaques just off of our balcony. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the included breakfast was really good. The staff is friendly and very... More

Spacious rooms, nice views, big balcony. Very pleasant and helpfull staff, able to arrange all the activities around and transport to Arenal National Park.. Good breakfasts. Nice position of the hotel, but the hill you have to climb is the price you have to pay..

We thought the proximity of this hotel to Santa Elena would be a plus, but it ended up being one of its biggest drawbacks due to the NOISE! It felt like we had front row seats to a motor cross track with the constant buzz of motorcycles up and down the hill and in town. Add in the music and... More

Beautiful hotel room in Santa Elena. We had a spacious room with two queen sized beds and an amazing view over the NIcoya Gulf (Pacific Ocean) which can be viewed from the balcony. Good cable TV, a coffee machine and refrigerator; two rather uncomfortable wooden armchairs and a table. Excellent sized bathroom (with toilet and shower) and basin just outside... More
