I went to Costa Rica last weekend with my sister and had a GREAT experience at the Trapp Family Lodge. We stayed for 2 nights, and the rooms were spacious, the dark wood created a very Swiss/Austrian ski lodge type experience, and the wait staff (from the front desk agent to the bartender and waiter) were extremely nice and attentive....

We enjoyed our 1 night stay. The hotel is clean and the rooms are nice. Nice big glass windows, wood floors, and comfortable beds. Didn't notice any heat or A/C, but it isn't really needed because at that elevation it doesn't get hot like the rest of Costa Rica. We would have appreciated toiletries. There was just a soap dispenser...

The location of this hotel is one of the closest hotels to the National Park, which offers so much peace and quiet. The grounds are well kept and the staff very friendly. I highly recommend to stay in the newest room which is more quiet and the rooms a lot nicer. Had such a great relaxing time in the hotel...

The hotel blends well into the cloud forest around it. The building is mainly of timber construction, which leads to its only major problem; you can hear through the walls. Our room on the first floor was large, with an en-suite WC and shower. Unlike 99% of hotels, the lighting in the room was bright enough to allow me to...

We recently stayed 2 nights at Trapp Family Lodge with my family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids, 5 & 14 years old). This is a really nice family owned hotel. It's very close to the Biological Reserve (5 min drive). The hotel offers a nice breakfast. The dinner was also good and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this...

We had a lovely, big room with a fabulous view from our window onto the Cloud Forest and the gardens of the Lodge. The rooms here are very comfortable with every convenience. The restaurant is great and the food interesting and well prepared and, unlike others, we didn't find it overpriced This is the mountainous area of the cloud forest,...

Upon arriving at the Trapp Family Lodge, my fiancé and I were thrilled at the beautiful view from our suite complete with windows open and the sun shining into our room. We were surprised at how empty our building was and we soon would discover why. We left shortly after to go on a tour and when we arrived back...

I spent a lovely weekend last week in Monteverde with 3 friends, and we decided to splurge with the Trapp Family Lodge. It was quite nice, but there are pros and cons, and I have to admit that I think our friend who stayed at a hostel in town got the better deal. Pros: - Right near the park -...

Be sure and request a room on one of the top floors. The lower floor is extremely noisey and you will be awake by about 6:30 every morning. Food is good and the grounds are very nice. The hotel is secluded but does offer some nice hiking trails. The balcony with a view and nice chairs was a pleasant surprise....

While debating whether to do the Jeep-Boat-Jeep tour or stay in Monteverde for a couple of nights, my travel buddy and I opted for the latter and were pleased with our choice. Located less than 3 mins driving on the Inca roads from the reserve and a few miles from Santa Elena, Trapp Family Lodge features spacious rooms with large...
