TFL is a reasonably comfortable hotel but every part of it is just adds up to average. We recommend it as an acceptable, though not perfect, Monteverde location. + If you plan to enter Monteverde Park multiple times during your stay, it is most proximate to the entrance + The common area bar, lounge, and restaraunt have been recently updated...

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights this week. We were given two of the rooms on the upper floor of the mountain section (22,23) and we really enjoyed them. The rooms were furnished nicely and simply, and there were many amazing blankets on the beds. The linens were definitely a highlight of the hotel. We had a...

Bit of let down, prices for food were a bit high, food was really salty (too salty) and it could be very drafty when outside doors were left open. But on the other hand, rooms were pretty nice though, with own private balcony, the rooms and bathroom were clean, staff were friendly, helped us to organise trips, as we barely...

Nice location (though you can't really have a bad one in Monteverde)...quality service and grounds - closest place to nat'l park entrance and cool hummingbird garden. They just need to shore up some breakfast and generally food-related, growing pains and they will be where they need to be

We were very happy with this hotel. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The only problem we had was it was very windy the days before our visit and the storm door was damaged so we dealt with a draft under our front door. Other than this it was a beautiful location way up in the mountains and the views...

After making reservations months in advance, upon arrival they said they gave our room to someone else, and "upgraded" us. Right. The room we got reeked of urine, and was far up a steep hillside. We had to climb stairs and stairs and stairs, and ramps and ramps of uneven concrete. So inconvenient, especially when there were rooms on the parking...

Very pleasant hotel, helpful staff and reasonable food. You are a tad removed from town, We did get dropped off in town from a visit had a really pleasant meal in a bar called Amigo's, look for the seafood platter towards the back of the menu. We then caught the bus back to the hotel, only 600 colons <72pence>, a...

Staying in a mountain view superior room...the view of the clouds rolling over the mountain tops is spectacular!!!! Large room that is clean. Breakfast is included which is delicious. Ate dinner here. The food was cooked to order and fresh. No complaints. It is far from town and a $8 US cab ride. Highly recommend!

Great place to stay if you are vigorous. We, unfortunately, had to climb quite a bit of stairs and rocks. Really, not bad, but a slight challenge. Great people who handled our reservations to perfection. Would consider going again. Excellent restaurant; what more do you expect in the middle of the Rain Forest??

The hotel is high up in the mountains in monteverde. 10minutes from st elena by car. The hotel is really nice and the rooms are quite large with 2 double beds and a built-in porch. Because the hotel is mostly made from wood, the floors are noisy. We heard guests above us all evening. The breakfast is not elaborate but...
