You would never find me camping in the woods-- but you would find me staying at Fonda vela in the monteverde cloud forest! This place is beautiful and perfectly situated to all of the goings on in and around Monteverde. Our room was upgraded to a junior suite without requesting it because we were fortunate to travel in "rainy" season...

This was a very nice hotel. The rooms were huge and beautiful. There was no need for AC (in fact it was a bit cold at night). The place was quiet and peaceful and located close to Monteverde National Park. It was also walkable down to the cheese factory and a few other markets/restaurants. The staff was helpful for booking...

Just returned from a fabulous stay. Hotel was great on booking the reservation, advising on what to do when we got there, making reservations for us for tours, and giving us directions. Room (Junior Suite) was large, clean, and comfortable. Loved the hardwood floors. Grounds were lovely -- especially the outdoor pool and hot tubs. Kids really loved that.

This was my 4th time traveling through Costa Rica and this was my favorite hotel I have stayed in! Very nice rooms, amazingly sweet staff, awesome restaurant and our favorite part was the pool area with 2 hot tubs, pool and ping pong tables, and bar - it had a roof over the whole rec area (it rains a lot...

The kids loved the pool and the grounds to hike around on. The hotel was a very short drive to the entrance of the Cloud forest reserve....

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in early June. Since it was their low season, they upgraded our rooms to junior suites. These were spectacular, appointed as a cozy swiss chalets with cathedral ceilings and large bay windows with hardwood floors and wood paneling on the ceilings. The beds were large and comfortable. The decoration consisted of classy...

Stayed for 2 nights and got an upgrade to a junior suite. It was a very clean room with a lot of space, and a great view of the forest and birds in the back. The rest of the grounds were beautiful and the pool area was also really nice. Great layout with super clean hot tubs. The staff was...

Stayed for 2 nights in April as part of a FAM trip with other agents. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable, everything you could want after a busy day in the cloud forest. Food was excellent, swimming pool lovely and drinks very reasonable. No wifi in rooms but available in the bar/reception areas. Met the owner who was charming and...

Stayed in a junior suite. Huge room with all the amenities needed. Clean and fantastic views from the upstairs room. Plenty of wildlife about. Only drawback is that its well out of town and has no shuttle service, but a cab is about $7 each way so no major drama and the food at the hotel is top notch and...
