Nice room with two beds, natural ventilation. Fantastic staff - took care of every question with care and pride. Environmentally friendly, they even have their own farm that supplies the hotel with eggs, milk, coffee and cheese. When a tour we had scheduled got rocky, they stepped in and fixed everything even though it was not booked through their hotel.

We loved our stay at Hotel Belmar - helpful staff, delicious farm to table food, beautiful room, great proximity to the cloud forest. We had a great view of the forest from our balcony, and saw some monkeys from the comfort of our room. Enjoyed the little trail through the forest onsite, the microbrewery, and the hot tub. Wouldn't change...

Monteverde is not easy to reach and you need definitely a 4WD (especially when it rains, which seems to be quite normal here). When you arrive, you can look forward to the fantastic Belmar hotel with it's friendly staff and obviously a fantastic cook! They take most of the products and ingredients from their own farm. Even the beer is...

Really lovely boutique hotel. We stayed in a beautiful superior suite room with large windows looking into the forest. (The fireflies gave us a wonderful show after dark.) Loved the Jacuzzi in the room and the ultra comfortable bed. The bar served superb cocktails flavoured with herbs and flowers from their garden. And the restaurant was pretty good too, though...

Great place to rest and relax Extremely friendly and helpful staff Relaxed atmosphere Baby friendly. Provide cribs and space for young kids to run around. The walk to town is about 20 minutes or a 2000 Colones ($4) cab ride. While there are activities to do, you could have a great time just resting in the hotel and enjoying the...

Great staff and lovely room. I enjoyed the bird watching from my balcony and the guided tour was definite worth it, as were all the recommended trips. The restaurant was delicious every night and the entire staff of the hotel made me feel at home. Very quiet and classy.

I read about Hotel Belmar while doing research online for our road trip to Costa Rica. When it came time to head to Monteverde, we looked at Booking.com and found a great rate for this hotel. We had been booking night by night for our road trip but as soon as we walked in and was greeted by Rolando, we...

So, we missed having zircon and a pool, but really that is irrelevant. This is a sublime location and the food, service and rooms are excellent. Having a mini brewery is cool too. As with most places in Costa Rica there are more than a few loud US voices to ignore but that aside this was a great stay and...
