Our stay at Hotel Belmar could not have been better. The staff greet you and make you feel at home the moment you step in the door. They are all very friendly and easy going. They all speak fluent English, Spanish and one of the guys on staff speaks French. They have the most breathtaking view overlooking the forest out...

We stayed at Hotel Belmar two nights and enjoyed the setting among the hills, the view from our room (lower level peninsula room), and the restaurant. The hotel has a traditional "old world" charm, lots of wood. Our meals were delicious and thoughtfully presented; we felt they were reasonably priced for such a fine restaurant. Breakfast was buffet-style, with plenty...

Imagine the most beautiful, cozy room with a two walls of glass to see a view of the pacific out the front and the jungle to the side. We awoke to the sound of howler monkeys, which may annoy some but then again, you are in the jungle. I appreciate the dedication to sustainability from the hotel. The best hotel...

Although I have been to Costa Rica 20+ times, this is the first time I've stayed in MonteVerde. I don't know how I managed to miss this gem for so long. Hotel Belmar is one of those places where you are more relaxed the moment you walk through the door. One reason I return to this country again and again...

Hotel Belmar was a great destination while we were in Costa Rica for our honeymoon. We reserved the Sunset room and were not disappointed with our view out over the Cloud Forest and the Pacific in the distance. Everyone was so amazing and nice which made our stay unforgettable.

Beautiful hotel with excellent staff in a lovely setting. Uses environmentally sustainable practices. Night Walk with hotelguide (Christian) was a highlight. Second night's Dinner at the restaurant was best meal of trip. Downsides: Expensive. Also, special event dinner prepared by a famous chef - 50% inedible.

We loved this hotel!!! Beautiful views from the hiltop. Staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Loved the farm fresh foods/drinks, even homemade soaps. Breakfast buffet and dinner were amazing. Hiked the very steep path up cerro amigo where you are amidst the clouds. Several restaurants and shops just a short hike towards town. Recommend Don Luis and coffee...

The best hotel during our 16day trip in Costa Rica. We stayed two nights in Deluxe King room with forrest view. This room had a big bathroom with two different showers. We decided to book an extra night just because of this beautiful hotel! So last night we spent in King room, upper floor in mainbuilding. We liked that room...
