We arrived at El Establo at about 1500hrs and we seriously thought we were the only people booked in. The place was dead. One of the restaurants was closed, one of the pools advertised and pictured was closed and empty (didn't look great) and as we did a little drive round the hotel (it's massive so you have to drive),...

Overall, a great hotel for the price. The rooms are clean and spacious and offer great views. The hotel is on the side of a mountain and the buildings are separate going up the mountain. We were lucky to be in the first building and closest to reception and the exit but I think I would have been less thrilled...

Let me start by saying the hotel is in a spectacular location. High atop a mountain with panoramic vistas of the Pacific Ocean as well as lush green tropical rain forests you are mesmerized by all of the tranquility and beauty. Rooms are spacious and each have a private balcony for the view described above. Nicely furnished and comfortable. There...

They are some nice things about this hotel - we had a family suite which was over two floors and nice views looking out over the town and beyond. The outdoor pool was being renovated whilst we were there (it was too cold and rainy to use it anyway0 and another one that is semi inside - has a terrace...

El Establo has a good location with outstanding views and large rooms.... but it pretty much ends there. Terrible in room lighting, no AC or fans (I did get one when I asked for one) no screens, no Patio chairs , no wi-fi, took an hour to get ice to the room and all this from one of the most...

We booked 3 rooms through Hotels.com in October - due to availability, two were suites and one was a regular room. We paid for them in full as that meant we would get free breakfast, Once we saw suites were available online, we tried to upgrade our suite on the website but it was non-refundable. We worked with Humberto to...

The good things about this hotel: the view from our room. The birds we saw there. You need a car here! Or else you are reliant on the hotel shuttle OR your legs to get up and down the hill. Okay, the rooms we had (901 and 902) are beautiful and huge, the bathrooms are luxury, beds and bedding nice,...

I can't say enough about this awesome hotel. Located in the town of Monteverde, this hotel is a short walk to the main part of town. The gentleman who checked us in greeted me with a big smile and was very kind. He spoke great English which was helpful because my Spanish only consists of a few words. Our room...

I had high hopes coming here, but... the room wasn't ready on time, food at the restaurant took an hour (there were 2 more tables), we had trouble at check in, there's nowhere to park at night and we found very little will to help all around. We're paying $750 per night and it doesn't even feel like they care......

This could be a good large hotel but it appears management does not care about their customers. There is NO INTERNET, Don't be fooled! No attempt to fix this issue which appears to be going on for some time, but is not a problem everywhere else in town. This may not be a bit deal if they had a proper...
